Is This Normal Concerned

Hopeful mum to be - July 14

Hi, I'm just over 10 wks pregnant and have had bleeding on and off throughout. At 6 weeks we saw heartbeat and baby was doing well. However, the last couple of days have been wired, sickness has all but gone, though bbs still sore, nose irritated etc, but Ive been having these weird almost cramping like discomfort. Can't even call it pain, but defo uncomfortable and its scaring me. What do you think, should I be concerned? Thanks for your thoughts in advance and sending good wishes to you all.

The cramping can be the routine ligament-stretching that happens, but with your history of spotting I'd call your Dr. Since you saw the heartbeat the odds of miscarriage go down significantly, but if you're worried you should be seen. Pregnancy symptoms come and go though, so I wouldn't worry if you're not as sick, etc. Since it's been 4 weeks since your last u/s they probably won't mind doing another one (if they can't detect the heartbeat with Doppler, which it may be too soon to), at least that's how my clinic operates. I'm 19 weeks, I've had 5 ultrasounds (due to spotting, severe headaches/cramping, falling down stairs, I've been a mess). I don't worry as much now though, because I've had rea__surances that everything's going just fine. (And no, I'm not a nervous first-time mom, this is my 5th, but I had 2 recent miscarriages, so I've been a little paranoid). Good luck, I'm sure everything is just fine - enjoy your pregnancy! ~ Marivic

I don't think you have anything to be concerned about if you've already had a good ultrasound. I know how scary the first trimester can be, but keep in mind you are almost out of it! And most women's symptoms do start to subside as you near the second trimester. Call your dr if something doesn't seem right, but chances are you and your baby are fine.

Thanks ladies for the responses, they were very rea__suring. Took your advice and went to the midwife. She said it was just ligaments and not to worry. Then did the doppler and I heard the heartbeat again. I'm totally happy now. Thanks again and good luck to you both. x
