Tara-T, You seem to be very informed and I was hoping you could explain what the fetal pole is??

Shanwdell:-- The term fetal pole just means "tiny little baby." IIn other words, it is used because the baby is not fully formed yet. Early on, baby just looks like a dot, or line (or "pole") with a heartbeat. As the pregnancy progresses closer to the second trimester the correct term is "fetus" although baby is used regularly.

I am kind of going through the same. The day my period didn't show up I took a pregnancy test at home and it came up positive and have taken one every day until today and they were all positive. I've been having a little cramping and back pain so they sent me to the hospital and they did some testing. Ultrasound lady couldn't see anything and she asked me if I could be wrong with my dates since I was claiming to be 5 weeks pregnant counting from the Last Menstrual Period. My HCG level was 55 and they could not spot anything on ultrasound. I'm not sure if I should be counting from date of ovulation or LMP. Anyhow they said it was low and I'm going for another blood test on Friday to see if they're doubling. I am extremely tired and such bad gas that my insides seem to be twisting because I'm kind of plugged up. I'm also having so pain in my b___sts and a little bit of dizziness. So with all these pregnancy signs I'm so confused at what's going on. I miscarried a year and a half ago but I"ve also been able to conceive successfully in the past. So far no bleeding what so ever but I'm not keeping my hopes up because I don't want as much shock as the last one. Good luck to you and I'll let ya know what's going on with me.

You should be counting from your LMP not your ovulation day... Pansy
