Large Clots In 9th And 10 Weeks

Has anyone had or even heard of this problem? Not much info on the net. Last Thurs. I passed huge blood clots, went to the doctor and the baby was still there doing fine. That same night passed about six huge clots about the size of my palm... er doc says baby is fine.... Last night again, I passed several clots... Checked today- baby is moving and doing fine. I am 10 weeks today... How long do I have to deal with this?? Doc says that there seems to be more blood in the uterus- just take it easy. I have noticed every time after I have an exam (with a speculum), this seems to happen a day or so later. It tears me up after I see the baby moving to know that my pregnancy has only a 50/50 chance of making it. This will hopefully be our 1st baby. I also had a blighted ovum in Jan this year. Pray for us!

It sounds like you are going through something similar to me. I found out that I was pregnant three weeks ago. I am now 6w6d. Last week I pa__sed a clot, a__suming that it was an early miscarriage, I moved on with life. My sons birthday was this past weekend and since I didn't think I was pregnant I got on the Slip and Slide with the kids. Then Wednesday, I felt something leaking, to my shock, it was blood. I pa__sed another 3 huge clots and the blood was almost black it was so dark. I went straight to the emergency room, I knew for sure that this was the miscarriage. Guess what? Someone was in there with a heart rate of 127 and my hormone count was 21,000. I cried so much because I had already told my husband who was out-of-town that I miscarried. The emergency room sent me home after the v____al ultrasound and life went on. Soon after getting home, I began to bleed again. I pa__sed a clot that evening and two the next morning (the size of a child's fist). I went back to the emergency room and when they checked my cervix it was still closed. I visited my Dr. yesterday evening. While doing the exam, my normally optimistic Dr. seemed not so when large clots began to fall to the floor making the room look like the sceen of a murder. I was rushed back to the hospital for another ultrasound, because surely my baby was in distress. Nope, not at all. Again, a perfectly healthy 127 heart rate and closed cervix. I have been put on bed rest, but the bleeding has subsided. I am, by medical standards, "perfectly healthy". Although we can't explain why this is occuring, our faith in God, with Whom ALL things are possible is steadfast. My brother-in-law pa__sed the day before I thought I initially miscarried. We believe that it is his spirit that is sustaining the baby.

Ladies I will pray for you all. I thought this was only happening to me because as you said there is not much information about this on the internet. I am 10wks 4days pregnant and I have had bleeding throughout my pregnancy and just yesterday I pa__sed a huge clot that I knew was the start of a miscarriage. I called my doctor who told me that if I was not having abdominal pain/contractions to just rest and minimize my activities. I was just in a week ago and had an ultrasound. The baby was moving! and had a heartbeat of 160 per minute. My doctor has scheduled me to come in on Monday and I'm praying that the baby is okay. This is my 5th pregnancy my first resulted in a health baby boy who is 11 I've had 1 where the sac was empty and a d&c was performed, 1 miscarriage and 1 ectopic. So the sight of blood during this early stage has made me very nervous. But I continue to have a positive att_tude and I believe GOD will see me through this.

I don't want to freak you out or say this is what is happening...this actually may be encouraging. At 7 weeks I felt water gush out of my v____a. I rushed to the bathroom and lost a ton of blood and very large clot. I saved the clot and went to emegency. The doctor told me I was having a miscarriage and sent me for an ultrasound the next day, to see if I would need a D&C. To our shock and amazement there was a perfectly healthy baby with a perfect heartbeat!!! I went to the doctor the next day and he explained to me that I had miscarried a twin and sac. The other baby would not be affected. I was amazed. I have had brown spotting off and on up until about a week ago...I am now 12 weeks. I had another us at 9 weeks and the baby looked great! There are a lot of crazy things that happen in pregnancy...and though scary...I lost a lot of fluid and blood, yet still have a healthy baby in there. The doctor said I could experience bleeding and clotting due to the emptly area where the miscarried twin was.

You are all so lucky I have been pregnant 3 times and have had 3 miscarriages. Every time I have bled really bad and pa__sed large blood clots, but I have never been lucky enough for the doctor to tell me the baby was fine. I want a baby so bad!!

Hi. Thanks to everyone for sharing your expiriences. I am now 13 weeks and though I have not had any more clots, I am still bleeding- mostly brown blood and about the amount of a normal period. It seems that the bleeding subsides and then gets heavy again each week. When will I stop bleeding??? I work at the hospital and doc says he will put me on bed rest if I want but it has not been proven that bed rest will save a pregnancy. Im just "taking it easy" for now. Keep the faith!
