Anti Depressants And Pregnancy

I am taking anti_depressants and I am 3 mnths pregnant. There is no way to get off of them , Is this going to hurt my baby?

Depends on which AD you are taking. There are plenty of AD options if the one you are taking is not considered safe. I am sure your doctor can advise you better than anyone here. Best wishes & happy pregnancy:)

hi I am also on anti depressants and cant get off my med Dr refered me to a prenatal pshcologist who is going to work with my med Dr to get me on meds that wont hurt the baby and keep me well please talk to your med Dr and see if there is a specialist around your area that can help you in this matter ( there is 1 in boston if you are from around that area)I hope this helps and if you want you can email me at rayven2269@yahoo.com good luck

There is always a way to get off of an anti depressant....talk with your doc about it because just stopping is not good for you...there are those that are safe during pregnancy...

There IS a way to get off of them or replace them with something safe. It involves good communication with your doctor, OB and psychologist. It is the people who would rather us a pill to cure every ill that cannot get off of them. Learning coping techniques is more than half the battle with depression and anxiety. But all too oftem people only want the pills to fix it. I have been on and off anti-depressants for several years. I know the signs to look for and I have an awesome psychologist who works with me to teach me coping techniques. If your brain chemicals are just that off that you need the meds you still need to learn coping techniques and work with your doctor and psychologist.
