hi! has anyone been told they were at risk to miscarrry, but never did? even if the baby looks fine and has strong heartbeat? at how many weeks?

I have a friend who bleed from 8 weeks until 12 weeks the doctor told her she would most likely miscarraige and to let nature take its course. She stop working and just did bed rest for those four weeks. She is now in her 8th month and baby is doing fine.
