Yes, I had gallstones throughout my pregnancy. And please, do youself a favor and get it treated as soon as possible. I put it off until my baby was three weeks old and nearly died. The stones were so numerous that my pancreas was blocked.

I just skimmed through the messages and I saw that Tammy has had the surgery. Tammy, have you felt 100% since or do you have I.B.S.? Because they say I have it and I'm still sick to my stomach 7 months later!

Sprite-I am so sorry that you had to go through that! nothing can be as scary as being in a situation like that when you are pregnant! I am so glad that your baby is fighting and doing so well. I hope that you start feeling better soon and the rest of your pregnancy is a breeze. Let us know how things are going and keep us updated. How many weeks are you again? You and your baby will definitely be in our thoughts. Shelly-no baby yet! In fact I am only a centimeter and a half dilated after all those contractions last week, and they just keep on coming! I am getting tired of being in pain every ten minutes-especially since it doesn't seem to be doing much, but hopefully it picks up a little! I loved my baby shower though, I was so spoiled. We don't need anything anymore, and we definitely don't need any clothes for awhile! It always amazes me how generous people are! How are you feeling? Are you recovering okay from your c-section? I hope that the incisions are healing well and don't start itching like mine still does! If it does, use vitamin e. I have learned that helps really well! How is your little man doing?
Anna-I am getting concerned as well. Are you doing alright? Let us know!!
Amanda-I am sorry to hear that you have been having such a hard time since your surgery. I haven't had many problems except horrible acid reflux if I eat anything spicy at all, so I have been avoiding that. That could have somethign to do with the pregnancy though, so I guess I will have to wait and see. What does your doctor say about IBS? I am glad that I didn't put off the surgery, because I have been able to enjoy my pregnancy a little better-well, plus I didn't have much of a choice!
Well, ladies I hope that all of you are doing great-especially Sprite! Let us know how you are doing and I will keep you updated on my contractions! Hopefully I have a little girl soon! :)

Tami,
Thanks for your concern. All my GI doctor said is that it's stressed induced and that I need to practice better stress-managing techniques. I don't think he has a 8 month old, a new house, and a full-time college schedule. Good luck with your pregnancy. I too had contractions every 10 minutes weeks before I had my baby. I choose to be induced, which I wouldn't do again. I was so sick from gallstones and the tendons pulling from my uterus, I just wanted to be free from it.

Amanda-I can understand the stress thing! What exactly does your doctor expect you to do? I know how it is to be a full time college student and working full time as well. Luckily I am now graduated, so I am not sure how it would be to have a child but I can imagine! My husband is still a full time college student-and will be for at least five more years since he plans on law school and it is very stressful figuring out how we are going to survive.
Anyways, they called me today from my ob's office and apparently I have a UTI and that is why I have been having the contractions so often, so now I get to take antibiotics. When were you finally induced? I am hoping that i don't have to be becuase I really would like it to just happen naturally. I have heard it is much worse when you are induced! Well, I hope that you are feeling better. Do they expect it to get better anytime soon? I don't know what will happen after my pregnancy, but i am hoping that the acid reflux goes away becuase it is bad. I hope that it is pregnancy related since I have heard that it can be bad in pregnancy.

Tami,
It is a crazy life we live nowadays. I was induced two days before my 40th week officially started. I was in labor 25 hours and they said that if I didn't give birth before the 24th hour they were going to give me a c-section. I started pushing 15 minutes before that time! I wasn't in pain until they broke my water. Then, with every contraction, my babies head would slam down and it was very painful. I went through this from 8 p.m. 'til about 9 when I was begging for an epidural. It took 3 times the normal dosage and 30 minutes to take effect, my anestiologist was afraid my heart was going to stop! What's worse at 4 a.m. it wore off and they didn't leave an extra dosage! So, the hospital had to call someone in who was 30 minutes away, then she had to mix the drugs and by the time she gave it to me, at 5:30 a.m. it was completely wore off and then new dose did not take effect. I had to push with nothing, not even tylenol! When my OBGYN gave me the local for the episiotomy that didn't take effect, so I still remember (8 months later) what THAT felt like. I'm sorry ladies. I just feel that if you know what you're going into... you might be more prepared for ANYTHING! I don't believe in sugar coating something so serious. Good luck with everything.

Amanda-thanks for letting me know! I can't imagine what you must have went through. That is scary. I know that it is good to be prepared for anything as labors vary with every woman. My sister had a pretty difficult labor where they thought they were goign to have to do an emergency c-section or lose them both as well. I must admit I am a little nervous, but at least there are several hospitals in my area so hopefully there will be plenty of doctors and specialists available if it is needed! Imagine though how it would have been years ago. We are lucky that we do have the technology to save women in childbirth nowadays. It is still scary but medical technology and knowledge has come so far since then! How are you feeling today?

I had a busy day today but no real problems with IBS. The heartburn wasn't to bad either. But, I really just finished dinner. Less than an hour ago. And thanks to my husband and his stupid motorcycle I missed my deadline for an Internet Quiz in one of my cla__ses. LOL I want to be a kid again on days like this. 3 year olds have such fun times. How have you been doing today?

Amanda-I am glad that you are doing well today. It is always nice when you have good days! I have been having contractions again-eight minutes apart and not getting any closer! They are hurting worse than last time, but still no progress! It is frustrating. I have also been feeling quite ill today so it hasn't been an all too great day! I am sorry to complain. I should just be grateful that I am healthy and not facing the devastation that others in our country are facing right now! Your husband has a motorcycle? That is great! I always missed those internet quizzes for one reason or another when I was in school. For some reason they were harder for me to remember than those that were in cla__s! :) What are you studying? I am somewhat missing school this year believe it or not! This is my first semester in years that I have not been in any cla__ses and it just feels strange. I probably won't miss it once my little girl is here though!
Shelly-How are you doing today? How is Jesse? Is he getting pretty big?

Tami,
It was a freebie that needs work. We just picked it up. It's his new project. I think you'll do great! Just hang in there! You're almost to the finish line! As far as school, I went to college Fall of '04 and had my baby on December 30th of '04. Gallstones and all, I only missed 6 days. Thought I was dying! Couldn't fit behind a normal desk. And those tendons would pull SO HARD when I sat down! I even tutored french! School's so much harder when you have a baby! I stay up late just to get homework done, but she doesn't sleep in! But, I want her to be proud of her mother. So, I gotta get it done. I'll survive. (Been through worse, right?) ha ha.
Well, you keep me posted and let me now the progress! =)

Amanda,
Thanks for the encouragement! Still having the contractions, but no baby! We will see what my doctor says at my appointment tomorrow. I can't believe you had school and had to go through all that at once! I can't imagine doing school with gallstones and being pregnant. I can't believe you missed so few days! Good for you, you must be very determined. I went to school last semester then graduated, and I wasn't diagnosed with gallstones until right after I graduated. I did have severe morning sickness though, and I know it was tough for me to go to all my cla__ses every day! People who have children and are in school amaze me. At my university there were moms that were always bringing thier babies to school with them. I know that I wouldn't have quit if I had my baby before school and it is great that you are finishing! I am sure she is proud of you! What are you studying? My husband is still in school and will be for quite a long time, so I am going to try my best to do nights with my daughter. Plus, I am taking at least a year off work so I get to be a stay at home mommy! We'll see what happens next year. My husband still has three more semesters of undergraduate then he is going to law school, so it will be awhile before we have steady income! That's what happens sometimes when you choose to be younger and have kids! I wouldn't choose any differently though, and I am sure you wouldn't either! Well, we are going to my husband's grandparents house for a Labor Day barbecue, so I better go! I will keep you updated! Hope you are feeling well today.

Tami,
Don't you worry about coming on here often b.c once that little one gets here you'll have no time! ha ha I'm so excited for you. What are you decorating the nursery in? I did Winnie the Pooh from Wal*mart, I just loved the plaid! But, I'm going to have to move BACK IN WITH MY PARENTS in January because my husband is going to Germany for 4 months and I need someone to watch my baby while I attend MEGA-collage hours, I'm thinking 18+ hours. So, we bought an extra bed today, and bedding, ALL on clearance! I was like a kid in a candy store! They had this beautiful Disney Princess bedding on sale, and I ended up geting the bedding, skirt, and mobile for 16 DOLLARS!!!! And this beautiful Dutchess bed for $79! It's so fun! Sorry, I love good deals like that. Well, do keep me posted, I want to know details as soon as she comes, well once you feel like it. ha ha. What are you going to name her?
