has anyone gone thru a positive test & been told they must have antibiotics during labour? I've read that being given by IV makes no difference, theres not enought time for penicillin to enter the system so why bother?

I test group b positive with my 2nd pregnancy. They gave me antibiotics through the IV but I also remember them cleaning me out v____ally. I dont know what the technical term is. I had my daughter v____ally and she came out perfectly healthly!! I will have to have the same thing done with this pregnancy because once you test positive you will always test positive. The weird thing to me was that I didnt have it with my son. who knows!!

I was positive for group b strep in my second pregnancy and then my third I was negitive. So it is not true that once you test positive you will always test positive.
