Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help. My wife had a va___al ultrasound on 12-02-05, we thought she was 6wks 4days the doctor told us the following: There is a 10mm gestation sac and yolk sac identified. There are echos within the gestation sac but no definate embryo identified. there is a bleed noterd below the gestation sac and she is required to have another scan in two weeks. Also, she as been passing a brwon discharge (about a teaspoon a day) for three weeks! I know your not doctors but any advice or experience would be greatly received. This is our first pregnancy and I never realised just how stressful it can be, you women really do have to go through so much!!!!!

Brown discharge usually means old blood. It can mean nothing or it can be a bad sign. I would ask your doctor. Did they seem concerned about anything? I would call your doc and tell them what is going on and see if they can schedule another US sooner to put your mind at ease. Good luck and God bless!

They didn't seem to concerned because it may just be that our dates are slightly out. My wife's in no pain and the bleeding seems to have stopped now, hopefully this isn't the clam before the storm. The doctor told us that she didn't want to raise our hopes but the bleeding may just be due to implantation. We are preparing for the worst as we are aware that the signs aren't to great. I suppose you just have to take the positives out of the situation and remind yourself that you certainly aren't the only ones!!
