Good luck w/ your appt. let me know how it goes for you. I do feel that no matter where or how your baby gets to you, the most important thing to do is to listen to your own intuition. I think life has subtle ways of guiding us toward a particular path and steering us away from others. You're doing the right thing by investigating all the possibilities that may be open to you. The more you find out about each, the more you can gain a "sense" of what may be right for you and your husband. By the way, my brother and sister-in-law gave birth to a very healthy baby girl at 41yrs old. ~

Just got back from reproductive endocrinologist. It was an interesting visit. From my history, doc. thought I was having recurrent miscarriages (many more than the two that registered!). Anyway, now, we're going to try and find out why...could be many things, and I've a bunch of tests to take, but maybe we'll find out something that can easily be fixed. He said that once we even SUSPECT I'm pregnant, we'll do hcg and monitor progestrone ever few days...so, I feel I'm in good hands. All in all, doc sounded pretty hopeful. I'll be doing the blood work this week. I'm also in fertility period now, so I go back tomorrow to do "post coital" to see if there's any bacteria, and check qualitly of CM. So technical...but this is the kind of monitoring I need to feel confident trying about. And about doing all the pre-tests, better to find out now and do whatever I can to keep the next prenancy viable. I'm glad I went, and the investment seems well worth the potential result! Until next time....

Hi to all! I am so happy that so many women seem to have found comfort and answers from this post...who knew where my little question would lead! First....Angela....I am happy to report that so far, so good for me even with my low beginning numbers. I am now almost 15 weeks along. I had one u/s early that was good and I was able to see hearbeat (I was about 7 weeks) and then I heard the hearbeat in the Dr. office at 11 weeks. However, for me personally, i am far from breathing a sigh of relief. I had a misacrriage in Sept. at almost 17 weeks....so I know feel like I'm on a "countdown"...and not sure when and if I'll feel confident at some point. BUT, that is just me. Of course most people at almost 15 weeks can feel pretty confident! My very best to you, please keep me posted!! TARA and BETH!!!! i was so excited to hear from you both. I have sure been thinking about you guys. Tara---sounds like you are doing some great investigating and pondering many good options. I think cloied could be a great place to start. Really not so unusual anymore to have healthy babies in early 40s. AND, one in 40 still are pretty decent odds. !!! Your Dr. sounds great. Please keep us posted. Beth....so glad you are ready to try again . I know it is so hard and scary. I guess there is no way around that. Just know the end result is worth all of this!!! Did you have a good, restful, healing vacation? I hope you both stay in touch. I am really entering my most scary time in a way as I approach where I was with my last m/c...and I really look forward to the support of you two!! My next Dr. appt. in not until a week from tomorrow. Feels like FOREVER to hear that hearbeat again!!! You two are in my thoughts!!!

TARA----I really wish my posting adsence was due to being in a zone, enjoying the pregancy. Just for the record...I don't think my anxiety is reduced at all....just don't know how to relax and feel hopeful. I know it's not good...but what can one do? If I had known what caused the last m/c...maybe it wouldn't be so scary....

CATE: great to hear from you... {hug}. So far so good for you, I know you're scared, I know you're counting the seconds until you're past that 17 week mark, not so long to go. Really, of a second trimester mis is very low, and each day that ticks by, better and better. Try to relax, girl, you'll have your beautiful baby in your arms in no time! I was wondering if you've thought of buying or renting a fetal monitor? Maybe it would ease our mind to hear your baby's heartbeat whenever you get nervous? For myself, I know I would find it rea__suring....Anyway, I'm so glad you decided to give us an update. Don't be a stranger, okay.....xxx

I have just received my hcg levels at a mere 22. Can you believe it? I thought I was more pregnant than that, but I think it was wishful thinking. I haven't had a period since Jan 18, now Mar 22. I have never missed a period in my life except when pregnant. I have a 3 yr old boy but have been pregnant 7 times. 2 of those were terminations, however the other 3 (not including this one) were miscarriages. My Dr has told me not to get too excited because the levels are so extremely low. Either I am only 1 week pregnant or I am about to miscarry. I really dread going through that again. It is such a feeling of utter shame and inadaquacy. I know logically it's not my fault but in my heart it just hurts. I needed some support tonight after getting the results and was happy you gals are openly sharing your thoughts. THANK YOU ALL!

I haven't been back to this site after my M/C on March 3...but after spending the evening with a girlfriend and her 4 week old and receiving the news that my best friend's 4 month old just was put into the hospital with a "ma__s or tumor" in his abdomen... I really wanted to chat on this post. Life is so short...and so precious. While it is so hard to believe you are pregnant and then find out you are not.. NEVER lose faith that everything happens for a reason....and I am a FIRM believer that God does not ever give you more than you can handle...so those who are trying....and those who are already pregnant and are worried... don't loose faith. Tonight made me long for the baby that I miscarried but also gave me renewed faith that in due time, and when the time is right, there will be a new life for each of us to nurture. Sorry to sound "preachy"... that is so usually not my style... but it's just my perspective on life tonight...and well, sometimes it feels good to share it!!! Susan... good luck to you... and thank you to all of you brave and beautiful women who are trying to bring new life into this crazy world of ours! Take good care of yourselves!!!!

Cate! So happy your back and still doing well. I know it's hard to trust everything will be okay, but it sounds as though you've gone this far and in just a few more weeks you'll be a little more "out of the woods." Yes, I am excited to start trying again. Ready for it this time. Vacation was great medicine for me. We live in the Northeast and visiting a warm climate for a while had a very positive effect on our spirits. Tara, Sounds like you have some great Dr.'s around you this time. Which is exactly what you need. I invited my OB to move into my house during my next pregnany to make it easier for all of us.....guess she thought I was joking.....Anyway, hope you both keep in contact. We still have a long way to go before we all reach our ultimate goal. And it is so nice to have support along the way. Pehaps we should start a new thread? This one is getting a bit long , no? Talk to you soon.

Jena - March 24

hey girls - i need ya! I got a blood test and my hcg was a 2! A lowly 2. But they retested and in 48 hours I went to a 12. Now I think it's gonna be a miscarriage but they say we'll take more blood and monitor it twice next week... after seeing people freaked at 350+, my 12 doesn't look good! I'm so scared - I'm 23 and I know it's young but it's still SO hard to miscarry... as you seem to unfortunately know...

Elizabeth - March 25

Hi All!! Last time I posted here, I had a miscarriage. Well I am pregnant again!!!! I had my misscarriage 48 days after my last period, and so far its been 45 days. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can actually make it past the 48th day. Its good to hear about you Cate! And also Tara-T. Cate, WOW and to think you started here when you were just over 5 weeks. Soon you can find out the gender. YAY!! I cant wait to get there. I hope that this one keeps. I will keep you all posted. Best wishes to all!!

Tara-T - March 26

Congrats, Elizabeth...that's just great!! I wonder if you have a dc. who is willing to closely monitor you this time? My reproductive endorincologist is a firm believer that women do not need to endure multple miscarriages before receiving the attention they need...and most insurence will cover "high risk" pregnacy testing and monitoring. I hope things go well for you and keep us posted. By the time we're through with this thread, I'm praying we all have healthy pregancies and and then birth announcments!!

Hi, I am so happy to find such a supportive site like this. You are all so great! My story is... i am 26 have three kiddos(6,7,8) and just found out last week(HCG 37) I am preggo again. They think about 5weeks 3 days today. The day after I found out I started to spot pink. Then for two days it was red and now it is gone. After the bleeding my HCG went up to 44. I know very low. I go in again tomorrow to see what happend over the weekend. I am very optimistic, but a little scared. I guess b/c I know this test will really give me INFO! I still have very sore b___sts and some off and on again nausea. Good luck to all of you

melissa - March 27

Elizabeth, I have read all the posts and to see you are preggo again is aewsome. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Good Luck

jena - March 28

melissa - let us know how your hCG levels were today!! (when you find out of course... oh the waiting game)!

Melissa - March 28

Jen, Well, the docs office was closed today so I have to wait until tomorrow! Go figure right? Hey, do you know if taking progesterone suppositories would make my b___sts hurt? Just curious cuz they say if you still have preggo symptoms (sore b___sts,nausea) then thats a good sign that I did not miscarry(usually), but b/c I am on progesterone I just don't know.
