Low HCG Levels At 4 And 5 Wks Pregnant

Britney- they had me do a follow up lab about 4-6 weeks after the surgery. My level was all the way down at my follow up. But, my level wasn't that high to begin with when I had the tube removed. I also don't think that you want to try to conceive right away after that surgery. I had my tube removed Feb. 03' and my next pegnancy was Dec. 04' (natural miscarriage)... then next one was May 05' (ended up having a D&C July 16th) and then got pregnant Aug. 18th...... I just turned 28 weeks today. Did your doctor tell you how long you should wait to get pregnant again after the removal of the tube?? OH, and I so know how you feel about the gas. Man, I looked like I was 8 months pregnant after the surgery. lol.. I was freaking out and so depressed. It took about 2 weeks to be back to normal. Sure hope your feeling better. I have a little bakini line scar (hardly noticeable) where they did the surgery. But, I was rushed into the ER because it ruptured. Anyhow... on my last pregnancy when I had the D&C, I followed my HCG down to 5. It was at 10,000 the day of the surgery and 4.5 weeks later it was down to 5. and a couple days after that, I ovulated and conceived. Good luck!!

LauraM- your not in Chicago area, are you?? lol... and congrats!! sounds like everythings working out just fine. I think you may have been a few days off on your dates though perhaps. A HCG level of 270 is about 15-16 days after conception. Also, your HCG should double every 36-48 hours, usually every 36 hours in the very beginning... so, yours sounds just perfect!! That is great news!! I bet on Feb. 22nd you will see a little shrimp and a heartbeat. Hey, if you want to see my 7.5 week ultrasound pic.. I'll Email it to you. My Email is Jarhead4me2@aol.com

As it seems it looks like not many men ask questions on this but i am researching and we are very worried. Last friday we got the bloodwork back and found out my wife is for sure pregnant. That Sunday she began to have light to moderate cramping and at times heavy bleeding. So we called the dr. and they sent her for an ultrasound and bloodwork to check her hCG level. On monday it was only 42. Tuesday we had an appointment at the Dr.'s and we told the Dr. that she might be around a month and half and for that time a number of 42 would be really low. So she said to go for another test and see if the number goes up. Next day she went and the number went up to 58? So we either completely messed up on how far along we thought she was or she is having a miscarriage? Is it possible for after the miscarriage for the hCG level to go up? We go in tomorrow to see if it went up again or not. Can anyone help with this question?

After I was told that I had a miscarriage my hCG was 115 and then a week later 504 and then dropped to 95 and now 0. Mine went up and then dropped alot.

I did the same thing with the spotting, the dr. checked all of my levels and my progesterone was low. I am taking 200mg once a day and I think it may be helping. At 4 weeks 1 day (sinece last cycle) my hcg was 321, now at 5 weeks 1 day they went way up to 6061. I really think the medicine is to thank.

hi Jeanette...wow, this forum really has collapsed! I;ve been so busy trying to study for my exams, but i don't think i was so succesful. The good thing though is because i had surgery in the middle, i automatically get to redo them if i don't pa__s. I stopped bleeding about a week and a half ago. It actually wasn't that much worse than my normal period. I doubt that my hcg is down yet cos it was 14859 the day of the surgery and that was only 2 and half weeks ago. I'm really looking forward to being fertile again!!!! How have you been doing? Daniella, drop in a word, won't you?

I don't have an answer for you, but I think I am having a similar problem. I am 5 weeks pregnant, and have done 4 hpt, and all of them came out with a very light line.... I went to dr last week, and the same thing... very light line. She came in and told me congratulations that I was pregnant, but not to get excited or tell anyone because I may miscarry??? I just don't understand where she would get this idea... I haven't even had a blood test or anything. I think it was just because the line was very faint. I haven't had any spotting or any signs that I may miscarry. I have a healthy 2 year old boy, and had no problems conceiving with him. I am not too sure if I should ask for a second opinion... and maybe a bloodtest or something? any ideas for me?

Britney - March 2

Hi shauntel, youre doctor sounds like an idiot!!!! Many pregnancy tests come out as a faint line and their hormone levels are fine. what really counts is how high your hcg level, and if its doubling every two-three days., so there's no way she can say that you are miscarrying unless she has at least two hcg test to compare. You hyave to take a blood test for that. So i suggest you definitely get a second opinion, probably even change doctors. Good luck and congrats!

Hey ladies! First, these posts have helped me so much. I've been reading through them today. I had my first HCG monday- it was 100. My second was Wednesday- 167. My Dr's office called this increase "great!" and told me it was "going really well." Somehow I think she's bsing me. I had #3 today and will get those results Monday and another test Monday too. Biggest problem? I have no idea how many DPO I am or even really when I got my period. Sounds weird, but it's kind of complicated. I had been on Yasmin for my PCOS and my RE suggested that I skip the placebo pills in January. So I did that, and ended up with a period from January 9-28! So, technically I only know my period started somewhere in the last week of that 3 week long one. Because of not knowing my period date, I also have no idea of when I ovulated. Okay, so basically I wanted your opinions- do you see what I see? My levels are low, and have no even doubled. This is bad, right?

Britney - March 4

Jamie-many hcg levels start off low initially and rise normally. The fact that you don't knowwhen you ovulated is good, because chances are you just ovulated late, and that is why they are low now. As for not doubling properly, they are supposed to double every two-three days, so there is still a good chance that you are in the safe zone....You'll really be able to see whats happening with the next set of results. But in the mean time, congratulations! is this your first?

Jamie - March 4

Hi Britney, thanks for your answer :) Yes, this is my first! :) I am hoping that I ovulated around the 16th of Feb because then I would have been about 13 DPO for hcg #1, 15 for #2 and then I think those levels would be accurate right? However the 16th would have made me approx cycle day 21ish (can't really tell because of that strange period). I also have PCOS though, and I do think that makes me ovulate late? Plus I am on 1000mg of Metformin and Im not sure how that effects ovulation either. I can't wait until hcg #3 comes in Monday!

i am having trouble with my hcg levels. This is making very concern since I have had two babies before and never had to worry or even knew about the hcg levels. Any advice from anyone would be great.

EmilyLewis - March 8

I have a similar story... Last Monday my hcg levels were 468, then Thursday 767, and then this past Monday 1670... My Dr. is not happy with the results because my Progesterone has also dropped from 17 to 10.. He has not been optomistic and this is my first pregnancy so I'm not sure what to think? I don't want to give up but I have to be realistic.... My Dr. just put me on progesterone pills Monday so I don't think anytime is too late for that. I think anything would help. I will be thinking of you. Anyone have any suggestions for me?

Britney - March 16

Hey everyone. I don't know if any of the old crew are checking anymore (Daniella, where have you gone????) but i took an hpt today and it was negative, so my miscarriage is over...YAY! So how have you all been?
