Low HCG Levels At 4 And 5 Wks Pregnant

I went to the physio yesterday and sure enough, just about everything was out, including my lower back which made me feel alot better thinking that was the cause of my lower back pain. However last night I had severe cramps and really bad lower back pain and felt like a real heavy period pain(Which is what I always get about 3 days before my period). Also, I had pain in my front, like a burning sensation which felt like the size of a large marble moving. This morning I had a small amount of brownish discharge on my panties so its not looking good. I'm really annoyed with my physio though, he's sort of a physic as well and told me I would carry this baby full term, I think I'm more hurt because I trusted him and he gave me false hope. I'll be expecting my period Sunday/Monday. I rung the midwife and will be doing another blood test on Monday if it hasn't come by then. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the rest of you.

Hello to everyone.. I just read so much and I don't know whether to cry or to be happy. I have had one miscarriage at 22 weeks about two years ago.. I did not follow my Hcg levels. Now, after trying for about 1 1/2 years we are finally pregnant. We took four home pregnancy test.. all positive. Went to the doctors and his urine test said not pregnant. Then i got a blood pregnancy test and my levels were only 42. Saying that i am 3 weeks and 6 days along. So, now i am freaking out and having to wait until Feb. 22 to have the levels tested again. Maybe a good thing: my b___st really hurt.. i can't lay on them..and no cramping and no bleeding. I do feel so weird achy feelings in my upper legs around my hips.. maybe down my legs a bit.. it is just really weird.. I am only one to four days late on my period so everyday I fell like i should be starting.. but i think it is only because I know mentally that i should be. PLEASE anyone with ANY words of advice..tell me..

Hi Amy. Hope things are going well for you. Please go back to the doctors and get another blood test done. This will tell you whats going on. Everyone is different with their HCG levels but so long as they are rising then its a good sign. A blood test 3 days apart should give you a good indication how your levels are rising. Good luck and keep in touch. As for me, I'm off to get another blood test done today and then again in 3 days. I'm really hoping the pain I had was nothing.

Bonnie: Have you had an ultrasound yet to determine that the baby is developing normally in the uterus?

bonnie - February 13

Hi Bridget. No, not yet. They say its to early but everything going well, I'll have 1 on the 1st of march. I should be about 7 and a half weeks by then. I'm really nervous as I'm waiting for the midwife to ring about the blood test results, any minute now. Cate, how are you doing. Elizabeth, whats going on with you. I really hope everyone is OK

Hello everyone. I've just had the greatest news. My HCG blood test that I'd had done today is over 4000 so I'm now 5 weeks and 1 day pregnant, YAY, we did it.

Tara-T - February 13

Bonnie, I've been following the posts here, and I"m so happy for you. You give me hope (I've had two miscarriages past year, as well). Those numbers look great. At 5 weeks, my hcG was only 180 (and I pretty much knew that was it). Keep us posted on your progress. CATE: ARE YOU OUT THERE?

bonnie - February 14

Tara-T, I know what your going through. I'm sending you lots of hugs and best wishes. Keep trying, hopefully you'll be like me and 3rd time lucky. Keep in touch. Love to hear how everyone is doing.

Oh, I forgot to mention, Have you all tried ovulation test strips? I have which really takes the guess work out. Try the internet to buy them. Its heaps cheaper than going to a pharmacy.

Hi to everyone...it was good to read some happy news!! Amy---Feb 22 does seem like a long time to wait...and I would think you could get some good info. even just three days apart. If the waiting seems long to you....consider calling your dr, tell him your anxiety level is too high...and could you have another test earlier! Sounds very, very promising though!! You'll be in my thoughts! By the way, I'm so sorry about your m/c at 22 weeks. I had one at 16 last Fall....22, WOW. DId they have any idea WHY??? Bonnie--I'm so happy for you, that's wonderful!! TARA---HI!!!! How are you??? You have been in my thoughts. Please tell me how you are doing.....!! I am OK here...my dr. appt, as I expected, didn't tell me much as I am not far along enought to hear hearbeat. I go back next Thurs. to try to hear it. I told him about my anxiety level...he didn't say much, even slightly blew me off. He did give me a blood test ....testing for something to do with antibodies...I had one after the late m/c, and he is doing another. ANYWAY, I guess all is ok. Still occasional brown spotting. I still don't have a good feeling. If I tell someone new I'm pregnant (and I havne't told many) I have this guilty feelling...like it's not going to last anyway, why am I telling....just be more people to tell when it ends. I wish I could shake the feeling...but I think it also might be good to keep my defenses up a little. Please do let me know how you are...I'm worried!!!!

hey cate...i lost the baby at 22 weeks because a major blood ves. popped of the placenta and the baby lost oxygen and drown in the fluid it happened within 2 days. That baby was a girl though. What caused your m/c at 16 weeks? And I know that is a horrid thing to happen.. but being pregnant after that.. is harder than i ever could have dreamed it would be. I have never been so happy but so extremely sad at the same time. Every night the image of my 22 week daughter comes into my head and all i can do is cry and pray that this one will be fine. I have not had any spotting or pain so far. (keeping my fingers crossed) But good news i do go in for an ultrasound and another blood test on this Wednesday, much better than the 22. Bonnie.. how are things going with you?

One more thing.. Happy Valentines Day to everyone!

Hi Amy. Crikey I couldn't even imagine what you went through, I'm so sorry. I hope everything goes well at your appointment. As for me, so far, so good. Feeling a bit sick but thats more hunger, I think. I've never been a big eater. Still a few aches and pains but nothing compared to what it was. A lot of bloating, burping and gas(LOL) but don't get me wrong, I'm NOT complaining, I say, bring it on, (or up, which ever the case may be,lol) We still haven't told our family about our pregnancy yet. Even though I'm feeling a lot better about this one. I guess its because with my last one, we jumped the gun and told everyone as soon as we found out, then of course when I miscarried we had to ring everyone back. That was soo hard. Poor hubby had to tell everyone because I was just crying so much. I have my first scan on the 1st of march, I'm sure everything will be fine, fingers crossed anyway. I really don't know when we'll be ready to tell our family, anyone got any ideas when the best time would be?, I'm thinking maybe after the baby's born,he,he. It would be easy to hide as we live quite away from family so the chances are we might not see them for nine months. Sorry warped sense of humor today. I think I'm just really happy. Hope everyone is OK. Hugs for everyone.

I am so glad I have found this site. I have really scared I am going to m/c again (I lost one at 5.5 weeks in Dec 04), now my HCG levels have only been rising slightly my last 3 went from 1500 to 2158 to 3200 in 3/4 days apart. My Progesterone level has dropped from 71 to 42. I had an u/s and they detected a sac but no heartbeat, I am confused at the dates my OB said I should be 5.5 wks the sonographer said I should be 6.2 weeks. I am going to try a progesterone gel today to see if it makes a change & then back to the doctors on 12/17 for an HCG blood test & Progesterone count. I am so nervous and scared to loose another pregnancy. I still feel nauseas & have had no bleeding but I am so confused to what is going on. Has anyone experienced something similar with the HCG Numbers and gone on to have a successful pregnancy?

bonnie - February 15

Hi Sue. I found a website that is as informative as this one. Its called "Just mommies". You just key in your HCG level, then key in how days apart the test was done, it then automatically calculates how many days to double. You have to remember though, everyone is different when it comes to HCG. To me, the over all numbers sound fine. I would think in some cases, its still too early to see or hear the heartbeat. Wait until your 7 weeks before having another ultrasound. Good luck and keep us informed on your progress.

Amy - February 16

Hello to everyone.. Today i went to the doctors.. I am five weeks today and my qut. is 280.. from 45 four days ago. So the numbers are rising really good.. doubling every 36 hours... praying that is a good sign. qut so low they could not do an u/s today but we go in a week from tomorrow for our first u/s. How is everyone doing??
