Pregnancy After Tubal Ligation

Well it seems that I can't yet start to heal from the loss of my baby. The dr called yesterday and said there was no fetal matter in the D & C pathology. So I have two choices, either a laproscopy which will clean out my tubes by surgery, or take a series of two shots will I guess clean out my tubes. I chose the shots because I really can't afford to miss anymore work. I don't get paid if I ain't there. So today after work I have to go draw blood and check my HCG levels then if they still haven't dropped to zero I will get the first shot. Then Monday I will draw more blood and get the second shot. If it doesn't work then surgery it is. I can't begin to get over it because I get through it yet.

To Momieof6 - I think that all the women who have come here know that b___st tenderness can happen when your period is about to start, but when it is mixed with other symptoms of pregnancy (I mean let's face it, we all know our bodies) then it becomes a concern for some. From what research I have dug up and from the many women who have posted here, and from my own experience, there is a different feeling between period symptoms and pregnancy symptoms. I am living proof that pregnancy after a tubal can happen.

I had a tubal done in December 6 weeks after I had my son in October. My periods are regular, come on every 28 days like clock work. Well, it was supposed to come on Monday but it hasn't showed up. I haven't had any real symptons of being pregnant like I did with my prior pregnancies, other than the metallic taste I had in my mouth this morning. Well, I decided to take a test to set my mind at ease. Me thinking that my period was just late cause my hormones were off like a lot of women have stated on this site, wasn't thinking that I may be pregnant. Well, low and behold my test came back positive. I am really upset about this because my husband and I already have 5 boys between us, the last 2 are ours together. We wanted a girl so bad but since our last turned out to be a boy we gave up hope and had my tubes tied. I have not told my husband yet and do not intend on telling him until I go to the doctor Monday to make sure. Although, everything is pointing to this being a girl, I just don't think I want another baby, especially this soon cause my baby is 7 months. But I also know that God wouldn't put more on you than you can bear. I just was not expecting this. I am still crying at this moment. I know that getting your tubes tied isn't 100% but I did not think it would happen to me. And the funny thing in all of this is, my husband was just telling my 3 year old last week that we were going to give him a sister. Is that ironic or what?

To Momto3boys, I have 3 boys too :) And had a tubal with my last delivery. Now I am having major symptoms of pregnancy and just took a test and it was neg. So I think I will just wait a week or so and see what happens. Funny thing is that my best friend just found out she is preg again. Maybe they are sympathy symptoms lol. Good luck with having that girl!

Robin, thanks. I still haven't told my husband as I want to be definitely sure that I am first. So we will see what the doctor says Monday. My thing is I just thought we were done. I am still a little down about this whole thing. But you just don't know how bad we want a little girl. Maybe it's in God's plans for us to have that little girl we both want so badly. But I just don't know what to do right now because I am so confused.

Wow! Now I really am concerned. I had my tubal 1 year ago and am 2 weeks late for my period with symptoms similar to my last pregnancy. I am newly married so it would not be a bad thing but I am afraid to find out for sure. One minute I am excited, the nest worried. I should just get a test and get it over with. I read the surgical notes from my tubal and my tubes were burned in 3 places contiguous to eachother meaning that basically the tube was just sealed shut, not seperated into two pieces and cauterized. I am thinking that this leaves a lot of room for them to re-open. Even if only one did, that's a 50/50 chance!!

Went to the dr. again today after having blood drawn again yesterday. My Beta was 1900 on tues. and 2900 on thurs. Nothing was seen in the ultrasound today, so I still dont have any real answers. The Dr. said she cant tell me anything definitely yet, except that yes I am pregnant. Meanwhile, I am a wreck, my b___st are achy, im nauseated, and my ab feels crampy and bloated. This is so unfair emoitonally, I just want to know the facts about what is happening to me. I have decided that if this happens to be a normal pregnancy, then it was meant to happen in god's eyes. But if its in my tubes or elsewhere, Im not sure how Im going to handle it emotionally, Im already crying all the time. I think about all the possibilities, and its so sad not to know for sure. On monday I go for more bloodwork, Im just ready to know the truth.

has any one been told, of tubal ligation syndrome.its a very interesting subject ,that i looked up after having lots of different problems after having my tubes cliped. And have not seen anyone mention it here?

I am 24 and had my tubes tied in October and regretted it immediatly! I have done much research and for those of you wanting to have it reversed what I found out is reversal has very very low statistics of acctually working (especially if you were burnt like me) the best chance you have is in-vitro and it is cheaper (if you are only looking to have one more)

Misty - June 4

It seems common I am still trying to figure out if I am pregnant. I am praying to god I am but we will see. Does anyone know how long it takes for it to show a positive result on an hpt after you have had a tubal. Any answers would be greatly app. I am praying for all of you.

I had a tubal liagation alomst 8 years now,I'm not pregnant yet but hoping to be soon.If I was to become pregnant what are the signs of etopic pregnancy?

SaHaRaRAIN - June 5

Missy..the same thing happened to me. I had three urine tests that came back positive but the doctor could not find any fetus in my uterus at 5 and a half weeks. When she took my blood she said I was without a doubt prego! She said I probably was wrong about my last period because you usually see the fetus at that time and she was 90 percent sure that it wasn't ectopic because there was no show in my tubes either. Two weeks later the doctor saw that the egg was indeed fertilized in my tubes and did not come down but at this time I was in extreme pain and had to have surgery instead of the medication. I was praying that the baby was in the right spot but after the ultrasound showed nothing I knew something was wrong. I hope your case is different and the baby shows up on ultrasound but if you even feel a little pain...especially in the rectum area call your doctor right away so you will not have to get your tube removed and go through surgery. God Bless!
