its so sad that your docs dont inform you before you do a tubal ligation my gyn wont do a tubal ligation on noone under 35 w/ children...why because the chances of getting pregnant with inthe 1st year are very high...he did a tubal ligation on my sister in-law who was 27 yrs old w/hesitation but because she has liver problems and difficult pregnacy he did it he cut and burn them....and told her for the first yr you have to use some other type of birth control...she didnt ...almost a year after the tubal ligation she came pregnant and miscarried...still dint go to check herself and came out pregnant again..another miscarrige needless to say she had to do the operation all over again...so word of advise dont get anything done until at least 35+ use other methods of birth control..i trust my gyn w/my life he is the best.....he also doesnt do abortions now where are you gonna find someone better...

Hi, I am 33, had a tubal ligation 3+ yrs ago, and found out after terrible pain and agony in the emergency room 2 weeks ago that I was pregnant AND there was a ruptured cyst that formed a blood clot...the doctor said she has performed laproscopic surgery and that she believes the pregnancy was in the tube, and that we found it "by chance" but that was not where my pain came from. She removed the tubes completely...but 2 weeks later, I am having cramping and still feel pregnant. She says my hgc is 14 now...Anyone relate?

I had my tubes tied 18 years ago and the doctor did a test with shooting dye in my tubes, and found out that they have come untied. I am now divorced, my daughter in college this fall, and I fear I may be pregnant. I have not had a period since June 11, and to today still no sign. I have had signs of menstral cramps last month as well as this month periodically but no bleeding. I have a bad case of heartburn in the morning and when I wake up in the middle of the night. There's time when I get severly hot and feel sick to my stomach. My b___st are tender sometimes but not regularly sore. My blood pressure has always been low and normal but the last two time I checked at a B/P booth, it has been considerbly high for me. I took a home pregnancy test and it was negative. I also hav swelling in my feet, and leg cramps in the night. Could I be pregnant, and would'nt a home test show by now?

honestly i dont think you can sue because if you do youre reserch on the tubal ligation you'' see that it clearly states that its not 100 percent effective they can grow back especially if youre under 35...my sis had a partial hysterectomy when she was only 26 and the doc said its still not 100% that she wont come out pregnant he said until you have no uterus you can still become pregnant you need to have good communication w/ your docs before you do something like that

Hi I have a question for all of you. I have not been feeling very good lately, my period has been all messed up and my b___bs have been hirting, i have been having stomach pain, peeing alot. I took a ept and there is a faint positive. The thing is, I had my tubes tied 2 years as of october. I have herad that if you get you tubes tied soon after a c-section its not that effective. I am just really confused, Im not sure could i really be preg?

To Lynn D - how old are you, sweetie? Those are also signs of menopause. You may be entering that stage of life. Your doctor can run tests to check for pg as well as menopause.
To Danielle - there is a good possibility that you could get pg. It has happened to me and to lots of women here on this board. Get to your dr and have them do a blood test not just a urine pg test in there office. Have them check for and HCG levels that will tell you whether you need to continue with more tests or if you are in the clear. We all know our bodies better than wnyone else and we know when something is different in them.

danielle i suggest you go to your doc and check i dont care what doctors say they are not God they dont know EVERYTHING...and remember anything is possible.... that is such c___p it is not 98.8% effective they only say what we want to hear .if that were true there wouldnt be so many people in this forum talking about it dont believe everything you hear or read....my doc told us that nothing is 100% because everyones body is different..some heal quicker than others...that just like the iud..almost everyone i know became pregnant within 2 yrs....just learn to read your body and when i doubt go check it out..hey cool phrase..huh

Mia - Honey those numbers are so wrong. They fail more and more everyday because all the science in the world can not understand women's ever changing bodies. The human body is resilient in a lot of ways. We are messing with a creation we don't fully understand. Some women never have a problem such as the symptoms alot of women have with periods and such after a tuabl. Some women end up having a hysterctomy after having a tubal because of too many ectopic pregnancies and issues with heavy periods and such. We are all difeernt and women are not being told the true dangers and symptoms a__sociated with having a tubal done.
