I am 41...... and I had my tubes tied ( not sure if they were burned) and also had CHF ( conjestive heart failure) almost 8 years ago..... after giving birth to my 4th child..... My husband I decided that we had enough kids and therefore I would have my tubes tied....... unfortunetly I wasn't diagnosed with CHF after the birth of the 4th child...... the doctor's were working on me like crazy...... I was coughing and gasping for air and literally fighting to stay alive...... they did all sorts of xrays and called in a pulmanoary specialist who discovered I had 7 liters of fluid in my lungs...... I went through a lot from that day...... that was Jan 5th 1998..... what happend was that I had an epidural for the birth...... after the delivery the doctor said " Ok we are ready for the tubal... is she still numb? " I then heard the anistheist say.." Not much.... we'll hit her up again" and all I remember then was WHAM! I fell back on the bed and started coughing and gasping for air...... my husband was totally freaking out..... well after several xrays they wheeled me into surgery and did the tubal anyways.... none of them knew it was CHF.....
I spent 2 weeks in the hospital in ICU and then was sent to a private room..... they were treating me for pnuemonia......
After being sent home...... within 2 weeks I was out of breath and my lower body started to swell...... my husband took me back to the pulmonary specialist ( who by the way was the one who dicoverd it was CHF.... my husband overheard the doc dictating into his recorder, my husband immediatly looked it up on line and it was describing all of my symptons) I was re-admitted and I spent another 2 weeks in the cardiolgy ICU where I was told I had a 50/50 chance..... I was hooked up to lots of meds and I was weighed the night I went in... 135 lbs..... after the first dose of Lasinex I urinated all of the retained fliuds..... the next morning I was wieghed again.... 116!
Well I did survive the CHF.......and as far as the tubal I never had any problems until now.....
I had my last major period in Sept..... and only spotted dark balckish blood in Oct for a day and a half..... since then no period...... I am craving foods, swollen belly and am really moody.... my stomache feels so full after only eating a small meal..... to the point I feel like a basketball is in there..... I do have mild cramping on both my lower sides... like gas..... I have an appt on Dec 27th.. but after reading most of the posts here I am calling tomorrow to see if I can be seen earlier... since there is a chance of a tubal pregnancy..... which that would be to be about 6 to 8 weeks along.....
My husband and I would love to have another baby..... especially a boy.... I have 2 older children ..... a girl (18) and a boy(16) from a previous marriage and 2 girls (10/ almost 8) from my current marraige..... so a another boy would be a blessing..... however when I was diagnosed with CHF I was told that having another baby could kill me.... and wouldnt be wise......
Anyway that is my story....... I never gave getting pregnant a thought after the tubal.... until a year or so again..... I have had dreams of babies...... and everytime I seem to be out somewhere I see more babies......
All I know is that Im desperate to find out.... whether it is meant to be or not.... I just have to find out soon.
To all of you who have posted here....... I want to thank you so much for being here..... it really has helped as far getting checked as soon as possible.

I wish I would have found this forum years ago. I had my tubes tied after the birth of my son on December 25, 1999. Exactly three years later in December 2002, I found out I was pregant. I was so happy because and felt that a miracle had happened to me. Unfortunately the pregancy was ecoptic. My tube ruptured, by the time I made it to surgery the doctors said I was lucky to be alive. On Dec. 16th it will be 3 years since that horrible night I lost the baby I thought was a miracle and I still feel as hurt as I did that night. I regret the tubal ligation and am terrified of having another ecoptic pregnancy. I want to have another baby so bad but can't afford the tubal ligation reversal but I never want to go through the physical and emotional pain of an ecoptic pregancy again. As it has been posted over and over on this forum, if any of you think you might be pregnant after a tubal ligation go to a doctor as soon as possible for a blood test. The home pregnancy tests don't always work. Mine came back postive but it was very faint. I actually through the test away thinking it was negative. I don't know what got me to pull it out of trash and look at it again.

Girlfriend.... I am so excited !!! I know that we were supposed to wait a couple more weeks before we were to try, but I was ovulating, and the time just seemed right... I believe that things happen for a reason, and I truely believe in my heart that the Lord sent us to Dr. Perez. We are in Oklahoma, and yes.... we drove... It was really a nice trip, and we took a little mini vacation. We were sight seeing a little. It was not a bad drive at all... I thought that the ride home was going to kill me, but I was thoroughly surprised that I was very comfotable the entire ride home. Sorry that it took so long to get back to you, but I have finals going on at school and have been very very busy... You can email me directly, and so can anyone else if you would like to talk.... Tracey Congrat on your surgery, I hope that recovery has gone as terrific for you as it has for me. The address where I can be reached is....tanyawinlock@cox.net I look forward to hearing from you all, and the very bust of luck to all of you....Tanya

Well it seems that most of us on here regret getting a tl but the chances of getting pregnant after one though it is possible and does happen, seems they are more likely to be ectopic. I can't afford a reversal or the time off to go to Dr. Perez (God knows I wish I could) but it is very scary reading the stories of positive hpt and them turning out to be in the tube. I am checking into other resourses that may be out there to help more with cost of a reversal. I want it so bad I can taste it. Meanwhile, I am praying for a miracle from God to just get pregnant....in my uterus. Good luck to you all and God bless! Lisa U

Hi. Have you checked out dr. perez website, and the testimonials page there? www.riobravoreversal.com there are dozens of babies and pictures there! there is also a yahoo group for past and future (and potential!) patients of Dr. Perez, it is also called riobravoreversals. check these out! I just had my surgery done a few weeks ago, so I have no TR babies yet, but hopefully soon! Don't worry , there are hundreds of Dr. Perez's TR babies out there! --Tracey in Reno

Tanya - congrats on your fast recovery! I totally understand about not waiting! I don't think we're in the waiting stage anymore either, LOL! We're just back to business as usual!
To everyone who is worried about ectopics - the best advice I can give you is to go to www.fertilityfriend.com and start tracking your cycles. Track your temperature every morning, and track your ovulation and period. Then, if you are late, you will be much more able to tell if it is because you've stopped ovulating, if you've ovulated late that cycle, or if you're likely to be pregnant. The tracking of your temperature and your cervical mucus (not as nasty as it sounds, I promise!) can tell more than you ever thought, LOL! Then, if your temperature chart indicates that you've missed your period, and that you are likely to be pregnant, you can take that to your doctor or clinic. That kind of information is #1, immensely helpful to keep you from going crazy wondering what's going on, and #2, as backup if you do end up pregnant so the docs will listen to you early on and start taking blood draws and ultrasounds to make sure the baby is where he or she is supposed to be, and not in the tubes. Even if you've had a tubal, I recommend charting, just so you can stay in touch with what's happening in your body. It's good to know if you're not ovulating, because that can be a signal that there are other things going haywire with your body . Email me if anyone needs more info. robertshelp@yahoo.com Good luck everyone!! --Tracey in Reno

So I guess you and the hubby got all moved??? I am glad to hear that you were able to go and have the surgery... I almost feel guilty for being able to have it done, when I know that there are hundreds, maybe even thousands of women out there who regret the surgery just as much as I did... The website that you mentioned in your last post is the charting site that I used to be able to get pregnant with this baby, fertilityfriend.com, it gives you wonderful tools and charts, and you can even compare your chart to others. You should all check it out, it helped me to know exactly what day I was ovulating, and I have turned several others there, who I must say have been lucky enough to get pregnant as well.... Tracey I am praying for you and your hubby, and I wish you all the very best of luck with the conception process.... I have not psted the prgnancy news on Dr. Perez's site yet, but I go in for an ultrasound on the 23rd to make sure that everything is okay. I have had the blood work done, and the levels are great and getting better every single day praise God.... I had the ultrasound tech at my moms hospital scan my tubes, and he said that they were clear, but he would not tell me anything wlse, except that the baby was not in the tube... Dr. Perez has the hands of an Angel...He truly is a worker of modern day miracles. I will never forget what he has done for my husband and I... Babeinthecloud....I will be praying that you are led down the right path, and when you are able to have the surgery, or you are able to seriously consider it, let us know, because we are here for you... ALL of you....Tanya

to tanya: thank you for your prayers....I pray for everyone on this site who are trying and regretful. I guess if God has it in store then it will happen. I am putting it in his hands. I would like to see more stories of woman who have gotten pregnant after a tl and actually gave birth to a baby. Anyone? It is encouraging to see stories like that and makes me feel hopeful. God bless you all and good luck to everyone.
