Hi, I had a tubal 2 years ago and now think I am pregnant. Funny thing is my Aunt had her tubes done after her 3rd child and got pregnant and had a normal delivery, so she got her tubes done again. well about 1 year later found out she was pregnant again and had a normal delivery. I thought that was just crazy to happen to the same woman twice. But I am wondering if maybe it is genetic?

Thanks to all of your posts! I am so glad that I am not the only one going through this. I didn't think it was that common to end up pregnant after a tubal ligation, I guess I was wrong. I have been stressing the last couple days thinking I feel like I'm pregnant, but not really sure if it is possible. I haven't gone in to see the doctor because I don't want to sound stupid when I go in there. My last period was February 18th. I have been feeling pretty tired and nauseous this last week. I feel like I have gained about 10 pounds, but I haven't even though my pants are fitting tighter than they should. I am baffled. I think I will wait to see if I get my period on my regular day this month (18th) if I still haven't gotten it I guess it would be wise to go in. Oh by the way, I am only 27 don't think it could be early menopause, but who knows. Thanks all, god bless.

I am not sure. I am in the same boat as the rest of you. I have 6 children, 8 pregnancies. I had my tubes tied Nov. 25, 2003 during the c-section birth of my youngest. Problem is, I am late with my period and 2 HPT have shown positive. NO birth control worked prior to the c-section, so this doesn't surprise me. Also, I did not truly wish to have my tubes tied, felt pressured by the inlaws and put on a guilt trip for so many babies for their son to support. I would LOVE for this baby to be NOT ectopic. Plan on calling docs tomorrow. What do you all think the success will be? I have wished for another baby, prayed, and also looked into tubal reversal. I am hoping this is a blessing to me! I have mild cramping. Last month, shortly after my period, I had severe pain in the lower right abdomen, right above the pelvic bone and it lead up to almost midline. I was doubled over, sweating, and crying it hurt worse than any child birth. It eased and went away after a few hours. Could this have been the tube? Could this be a sign telling me ectopic? I have been depressed since the tubal, and an ectopic pregnancy would be the last straw of things I can handle (no I won't do anything stupid). What do you all think, could it be?

I am not sure how common it is, but I believe that if it's God's will, it will happen. I had my tubes tied (and burned) 7 years ago. Last month I had symptoms (nausea, swollen b___sts, fatigue) and my husband asked me if I could be pregnant. Before I could take a test, I started bleeding and had severe pain. They were not normal cramps, they felt like contractions (starting from the back and wrapping around to the front) I am pretty sure that I miscarried. Since my husband just started a new job, we don't have insurance yet, so I have to wait to go in to the Dr. I felt myself ovulate on the 3rd, and I hope that I am pregnant now. I am soooo sick in the mornings that I can hardly get out of bed. 2 years ago I was told that I have severe ovarian cysts and adhesions from my tubal. Right now I have a killer pain in my right side (but not where my ovaries are) but I am hoping that it is just an adhesion pulling. It has done that before and it feels like that. Good luck to all of you who are happily pregnant and let's hope the baby fairy visits us all soon!

Hi ladies just wanted to drop a little note about preganancy after having the tubes tied i had a daughter in 93 a son in 97 i had my beautiful children and my husband and i decided that after the birth of our son i would have the ligation. So i did i saw the pathology report and it said my tubes were cut tied and cauterized. cauterized meaning burned. Low and behold seven months later i was pregnant again we made jokes that the sperm held hands to get across from the ovaries to the tubes i was told that this happens to 1 percent out of 100,000 women i cant think of a of a better way to become a statistic my third child was born in 98.good luck to all of you.

I am sitting here scared to death because I have three kids and I had a tubal about 16 months ago after having my little girl. I have been real sick for about three weeks now and missed my period since February. I took a test and I am pregnant. But what is so scary is not knowing if it is a ectopic pregnancy or a uterine. I guess it is in God's hands but I know it would be hard to have another child. The thing is I am praying for it to be uterine Please pray for me and I also will pray for the many women out there going through the same thing I am going through. But I guess my answer for you is yes you can be pregnant after a tubal.
