HI, I'm 31 and had a Mirena inserted in April 2012. I have never been pregnant. I bled for months and months, had pain and cramping. Dr said my body would get used to it and it would stop. I lost the strings about 6 months ago called the Dr an she was not really concerned. She said not to worry she would check it out in spring when I had my annual checkup. About 10 weeks ago, the bleeding stopped completely. I was not feeling well, sick feeling until about 1pm then really hungry. I have had cravings that are insatiable until I have that food. Lately I want nothing but ice cream, no appet_te for anything else. My br___ts are really sore and heavy feeling, they have outgrown most of the bras I own. I had my annual and a PAP (which I usually bleed a lot after) but no bleeding this time. Her only comment was there was a lot of mucous (which she said was ok). She couldn't find the strings so booked me for an ultrasound (to check where it is) which is in a month! (I told her my symptoms and she was still not concerned) now I have done some reading here on this forum and I'm worried. amazingly there has been none of the "normal" pain from the IUD in the last 10 weeks, for ta I am thankful. So my question is... how do I know if I am pregnant? When is a good time to take a HPC and how likely is it to get a false negative when I do take the HPC? Thanks for your replies :)
