Amber-I am so sorry you had to go through another D&C. That just absolutely sucks! I am so glad though, that you are keeping us updated on how you are doing-keep writing because it really will help you. Did you see a Pregnancy Specialist yet? Did he/she give you any answeres as to what may be causing your mc's? Anyways, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers-I know what it is like to suffer an mc so just hang in there.

Hi, I am 5w4d and had an ultrasound a week ago. There was nothing there, so they sent me for blood test. My hcg was 530 and my prog was 11. I went for another one 4 days later and my hcg was 3000 but the prog was 9 . I am now on prometrium 3x a day. I go for an ultrasound tomorrow - at first I think they thought it was an ectopic preg - but I will keep you posted as to if we see anything tomorrow. I have not felt any side effects from the prometrium (although I have only taken 4 doses) and have very few preg symptoms... I thought before I started trying to get preg I had low prog b/c I always spotted at the end of my already short luteal phase.

Its nice that there are sites where you can talk to other women about what is affecting you. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for four years. I have PCOS, and so I kept it strait in my head that I would not get pregnant without drugs, my husband thought a little differently than me, too hopeful! Last month my period was late and I was so mad because I had finally got my midwife to see me about getting started on clomid. The weekend before my appointment my husband and my sister begged and begged me to take a preg. test, so I gave in. Right away a plus sign appreared, I couldn't stop laughing so I kept taking them until we had 5 tests all saying the same thing! During my 5th week pregnant I had spotting, first pinkesh then turned to drown, varying browns, and then pinhead tissue looking things. This went on for 7 days! I was so scared and my midwife kept refussing to see me and even got nasty saying she didn't want to hear from me, so I took that as she didn't want my business and I got a real doctor! I had been reading these sites about how women got the progesterone levels checked and put on meds, and before I could even ask the doctor, he did it all for me, got me on meds that same day (200mg x3times a day) and he gave me an ultrasound and the baby looked so wonderful to me! The heartbeat was only 124, which they like to see 150, was anyones else like that? Since the meds I have not been spotting and besides side effects of the drugs, I feel so good about this. My levels came back at 7.2, not good, but I am optomistic that things will be fine, next ultrasound is next week and so looking forward to it! Thank you all for your experiences!

Hi, I hope you are all doing well. I just wanted tell you guys something my doctor told me today. I am 8w 4d ( babys doing great HB was 153) today But at 6 weeks my porgesterone was 16.8 which went up from a 15.6 at 5 week check. She told me that many women have naturally lower levels(12-19) and the reason we never hear that is because the majority of these women are not tested unless they have had a loss.So she explained it that you could see womeon pregnant and a__sume that thier levels were normal because they are carrying the pregnancy sucessfully,Not knowing that they could have a 12 progesterone, with no symptoms. It5 may be their "norm" So because we only check those with losses, it seems the one thing we have in common. She has also seen a pregnancy continue at a progesterone level of 9 that wasn't even responsive to supplements. So I thought that was good news that I wanted to share with all of us! Loads of wishes~ Renee

HI, I just had my levels checked today, and waiting.. I am 4weeks and 5 days... I have come and go sore bbs and that is IT... if you have low progeterone, is that why I never seem to feel prego? I have had 2 m/c both natural, one at 8.5 weeks and one at 6eeks, and am freaking out again, bec I have no sx... I did, but when I started the progesterone at 14dpo, (plus was very positive and still is) I was cramping and spotting, like the olther failed ones and this pregnancy, I feel fine now, just not prego..? Is this okay since I might have lower levels? I take 50mg v____al a day... niki :)

Hey guys! I really enjoyed reading all the entries. I am almost 7 weeks pregnant. I have a daughter who will be 8. I had 3 miscarriages before I had her. I am on Prometrium 200 mg a day. So far so good. U/S last Monday showed heartbeat, so we are excited. Doing lots of praying right now!! I just want you to know, all of you are in my prayers as well.....

Good news today HCG is almost 3300 and without help progesterone is at 10 (I was put on progesterone just after this bloodtest was done...while waiting for the results) Dr says these are a little low BUT I do know that it is nowhere near as bad as the prog reading when I lost the last one at about 6 weeks which was done about a week before I m/c which was about 4. He has scheduled me for an ultrasound on Fri..... YAY!

Hi everyone, I'm going on 12 weeks right now. This is my first pregnancy to go this far after 2 miscarriages. My doc put me on 1CC injection a day for the past 4 weeks. my levels went from 10-20 to 37-44. I was told yesterday I no longer have to take the shots after Monday. I'm kinda nervous because I dont want nothing to happen... know what I mean?

I am 6 wks pregnant and my progesterone levels are low at 11.1. I have started taking 100mg progesterone suppositories 2x a day (am & pm). How do you stop the suppository from dripping out during the day? It's fine at night when I'm sleeping, but not during the day. Has anyone had this problem?

Sandra-thanks for asking about me. So far, so good. I have been having some cramping but thank god, no spotting. My levels haven't been checked since my last visit which at that time they were good so hopefully everything is okay. I will be seeing my doctor next Friday at which point I will be 12 weeks!!! I rented a fetal doppler so that I could hear the baby's heartbeat and it is absolutely wonderful. Every day it gets a little bit louder and a little bit higher up on my abdomen so I know that it is growing! Yesterday, when my boys and I are were listening to heartbeat(160bpm!) we could actually hear it making some kicks and it sounded so good. I promise to let you know how my doctor's visit goes on Friday. For all you other lady's who have had problems with progesterone, it is because of this supplement that I have been able to have my other two children and now it seems to be maintaining this pregnancy as well. Lets all keep the faith. Always thinking about all of you!!

I thought I give an update from my last post a few months ago. At 5 weeks, my wife's progesterone was at 12.9. The docgave her prometrium twice a day -orally. I'm not totally convinced it helped (as some studies conclude), but she is now about 17 weeks and things are looking great. Good luck to any of you who are concerned. It can work out ok - if its meant to be. So far so good for us. peace

I thought I would give an update on my wife. A few months ago, at 5 weeks, she tested at 12.9 progesterone level. The doc put her on prometrium twice a day orally. I'm not totally sure it helped (as per some recent studies about its effectiveness), but I'm am proud to say that she is now in week 17 and things still look great. We never checked the levels again, but so far so good. Good luck to those of you who are concerned. It can work out ok - if it is meant to be of course. peace

if my post repeated, sorry

My wife just got pregnent and we were told that her Progesterone was 10. I was doing some research and I found this article. Thought might help some of you. Progesterone (during pregnancy) 1st trimester: 9–47 ng/mL 2nd trimester: 17–147 ng/mL 3rd trimester: 55–200 ng/mL What Affects the Test: ---------------------------------- Certain hormone medications, including those containing estrogen or progesterone (such as birth control pills), can affect progesterone levels. Also, other medications, such as ampicillin and clomiphene, may affect progesterone test results. Progesterone levels are highest at bedtime and lowest in the early morning and after meals and exercise. Diagnostic imaging procedures (such as a thyroid scan or bone scan) that use a radioactive substance (tracer) and were performed within the 7 days prior to progesterone testing can interfere with progesterone results. Rough handling, contamination, or inadequate refrigeration of the blood sample can cause inaccurate test results. Progesterone levels vary widely throughout the menstrual cycle. Therefore, it is important for your health professional to know the first day of your last menstrual period, if possible. What should I avoid while taking progesterone? Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Progesterone may cause dizziness or drowsiness. If you experience dizziness or drowsiness, avoid these activities. What are the possible side effects of progesterone? Stop taking progesterone and seek emergency medical attention or call your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following serious side effects: ---------------------------- an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives); shortness of breath or pain in your chest; a sudden severe headache; visual changes; a painful, red, swollen leg; numbness or tingling in an arm or leg; prolonged, heavy, v____al bleeding; stomach or side pain; or yellowing of your skin or eyes. Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take progesterone and talk to your doctor if you experience dizziness; drowsiness; headache; b___st pain or tenderness; abdominal pain or distention; diarrhea; v____al discharge; or mood changes, anxiety, irritability, or depression.
