Well, here is an update on my pregnancy. I'm not 21 weeks 4 days (according to my last US i'm 23 weeks and due Thansksgiving! We'll see). Anyway, I still get the trace spotting every 3 or 4 days. I've been to the doc and he said everything is okay. I just had another US to follow up the last one, and everyting was okay. My cervix is long enough, so he isn't worried about incompetent cervix. And my placeta is away from my cervix. I've just been doing trial and error to find out what is causing itl I'm not on bedrest or anything and am still working as an RN at a hospital. Since I've had the US and been to see him, I've quit worrying about it. THe baby is healthy at 1lb 4 oz and is measuring long. Heart beat was 144. No defects noted. I'm feeling lots of movement. And I feel pretty good (other than tired) and have only gained 2 pounds (i'm overweight so that amount of gain is okay). So, happy to report all is well at this time. I go back Aug 17 for my next appointment. But believe me, if I start spotting a lot, I will call before.

This is my first pregnancy. I'm six weeks pregnant with last menst. period on 6/19/2005. I started spotting last Friday 7/29/2005 and have been spotting for about 5 days now. It is mostly brown spotting which happens in the morning or around bedtime & when I wipe.. As soon as I noticed the spotting I called the prenatal nurse who took me in for blood work. The blood work revealed normal HGHormone (around 6,050) but low progesterone levels(around 10....but they want to see higher levels,,,), The nurse said that low progesterone levels are sign of miscarriage. As such they prescribed progesterone pills which I started taking as of yesterday... I have another blood test on Thurdsay 8/4/05 and will keep you posted.....I leave it up to God......

briansangel & mary my daughter is in a simular situation.almost 2 weeks ago she became sick vomiting, cramping ,pressure etc. i called the clinic she goes to they told her probably just growing pain don't worry 2 days later she started spotting she went to the er they ammitted her for 2 days said she had bladder & kidney infection & was badly dehydrated from vomitting so much. while in there they did a scan on her kidneys they saw the baby at the same time but would not let her see it because that wasn't what they were checking for. she is now around 18 weeks and has not had any ultrasound done on baby. she went to her family dr. 2 days ago she said infection is supposeably gone. but this morning she spotted again so they called the hospital again they told her not to worry it was probably due to having intercourse.. she goes to the clinic aug. 9th but i can't help worrying. i had 5 children an never had a drop of blood. from what i've read i hear alot about spotting in early pregnacy and throghout but not alot about it starting in the second trimester. am i over reacting? is this normal? every thing has been good and normal up to 2 weeks ago.

I started spotting this morning it freaked me out i didnt know what to do, but it stopped. im still freaking out because im having twins and im 15 weeks preggo.

Katie - August 4

1see2. Call your daughter and get in right away. It may be normal but the appointment will help ease your anxiety. When I was spotting my doctor was able to get me in right away, the same day. Be persistent and let them know you are concerned. Good luck with your twins! I have several friends with twins and they are amazing. :0)

Hi, I haven't written in a while but here is an update I'm in my 11th week and it has been 1 week without any spotting. I have an appointment with my doctor in 3 days so lets hope everything is fine. My husband though is going crazy because we haven't had s_x in more than a month since I was bleeding. Its only been a week with no spotting , does anybody know if s_x is ok now or should I wait, I don't know if I should , Im kind of scared to.

Paula: I wish you all the best with your u/sound tomorrow. I've just read through the forum and am keen to hear how you go. I'm currently 7 weeks preg - brownish discharge for the last 4 days as well as at 4.5 weeks (implant bleed). What an absolute emotional roller coaster! Keep well - and I hope to hear good news.

Paula - August 9

Kathy: Hi, I wish you also the best of luck, the spotting is probably nothing, have you had a ultrasound yet? Well I have really been taking it easy, I don't even clean the house my husband does(poor thing) but I suggest you take it easy too. Keep updating me on how everything is going.

I'm now over a week of spotting-free. As it turned out after I visited my doctor due to the spotting, my blood tests revealed a low progesterone level. They prescribed a progesterone suppository and one day after application, the spotting stopped. Perhaps low progesterone had something to do with the spotting? I will ask the doctor during my next appointment on 8/20. Has this happened to anyone else-spotting-low progesterone?

Kathy - August 11

Rosie: You've just reminded me that when I use to be on the pill (10 years ago), I had to change my prescription to a pill type with a higher dosage of progesterone. That's interesting - and makes me wonder if some of that contributes to my spotting both at 4.5 weeks and at 7 weeks. Fortunately it has subsided now. I will ask my obstetrician when I see him next week about my progesterone levels. I'll let you know what I learn - could you please do the same? thanks, Kathy

Rosie - August 13

Kathy: I will definitely keep you posted regarding my OB's response to the relationship b/w spotting & low progesterone.

I am 34 weeks and had some bleeding mixed with mucus-like substance.I went to the emergency room and they said it may have came from a cervix check a day early is that true? Now it just looks brownish!!

Azura - August 14

Hi, i an about 8 weeks now and yesterday, when i woke up in the morning, i had a very light pinkish when i wiped, i was freaking out and and about 5 mins later i wiped again and it was brownish red, it's not staining my panties just when I wiped. I called the Dr and she said nothing to worry, call in on Mon morning for an ultrasound. So the spotting went on and off all day. No cramping or pain, still ahve the pregnancy symptoms, tender b___st etc. Even took a another pregnancy test, positive. I wasn't myself, I read all the books, online all day, Monday seems like forever to get here. This morning, I woke up with more brownish red and i called the dr again and she said that I will just waste my time going to the ER today so, just wait till Monday. I've been reading a lot about the Blighted Ovum, the symptoms are very similar to what I have. Wish me luck tomorrow, I'm hoping and praying that everything will be alright and if it doesn't, i guess it wasn't meant to be. Will keep posted.
