Subchorionic Bleeding

Here's a note of encouragement to everyone. I was dx with sub hem at 14 weeks after a bleeding episode. I am 38 y/o; this was my 2nd preg. First baby I miscarried 07/05. Throughout the duration of my pregnancy I had complications with the placenta. Partial abruption, mild cord damage, with 2 LARGE blood clots on both sides of the placenta. The perinatologist felt I would not make it past week 22 because of a likelihood of complete abruption, preeclampia or growth restriction of the baby. This pregnancy really tested my faith. From 16 weeks I bled again and stayed on restricted bedrest until I reached viability (24 weeks). After that I resumed normal activity however I did exercise pelvic rest. My Pastor, church and family continued to pray for this pregnancy to at least make it to 6 mths. After I reached 28 weeks I breathed a little easier...28 turned to 30, 30 turned to 32 and then I bled again with premature labor. I was given terbutaline from week 32 until week 35 and delivered a healthy baby boy at 7 lbs 14 oz August 1, 2006 via c section week 38. My OBS stated my placenta was "the worst placenta he has ever seen since practicing medicine." Please pray and take care of yourself. Believe GOD for your baby! I quoted scriptures the entire pregnancy. Blessings to all of YOU!

Thank you Renne for sharing your story with us and congratulations to you. It really gives me hope and makes my faith stronger, God has diffrent ways of testing us, this is mine but your example is perfect. Congratulations again!! I saw my Dr. yesterday and in the last sonogram it looks like the placenta has moved a little it is now not covering the birthca___l completely, I am now 16W2D.

Hi All. I was diagnosed with subchorionic bleeding at 6 weeks and am now at 12 weeks and everything is healthy and right on track, thankfully! This forum helped me a lot when I went through 2 big bleeding episodes and trips to the ER with doctors preparing me for miscarriages. So thank you for sharing your stories! It kept me going! I found this article through another forum so I thought I'd share. More positive news for us! http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=2106217&dopt=Abstract Thanks, Joelle

Hello everyone. Sorry, I have been out of the loop! I went to the ER last weekend due to a huge episode of bright red bleeding. I was put on complete bedrest for about 3 days until I had my level 2 U/S at our parinatologist clinic. I bled off and on all night long on last Saturday PM, went to the ER sunday AM after I pa__sed a blood clot; after which the bleeding slowed way down. I was just beginning to breathe about the baby. It had been right at a month and NOTHING and then there I was laying on the sofa and bleeding- worse then I have so far. I am 16 wks. 0 days today. The U/S showed the baby doing fabulous and a very tiny abruption. My parinatologist told me its like the chicken and the egg. I had the SBC, which has healed, but now it has evolved into a very tiny/slight placental abruption. We are praying that this will heal itself, as we are told that it probably will. I have a dr.s appt this thursday and an U/S next thursday to see what the abruption is doing. I would definitely agree with renee, this has totally challenged my faith and relationship with God. How thankful I am for His unfailing love- I know that He can and will answer prayer and I am resting in that for this baby (and for all of you as well). I will keep you posted. Why hasn't there been more doc_mentation on this? It does seem common, even somewhat "normal," though the pregnancies are at higher risk.

Hi everyone! Does anyone know if you can have a subchrionic bleed and it not be picked up on u/s? I have been spotting since I found out I was pregnant I am now 6 1/2 weeks and healthy h/b detected. The U/S tech did not mention anything about a s/bleed. Is it possible I have one but not showing on U/S ? Thanks!

Sorry the article link didn't work...? Here it is again: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=2106217&dopt=Abstract

Oh, I see what it's doing... this forum inserts dashes when it has to send a word to the next line. So paste the above link and then delete the dash after "entr"

Jellomold - August 19

...and the one after "PubMed" and the one after "Abstract". Basically, remove all dashes from the above link. Argh! How frustrating! Sorry ladies.... a complaint for the programmers I guess!

Thank you so much for the previous posted link. I have never posted but I lurk this board and have found it to be wonderful. I am Sarah, I was told at 6w1d that I had a subchorionic bleed after having an episode of gushing blood. We went to the ER and they did a transv____al and found it. I haven't bled since and I am not 10w2d. They say I will bleed again because I have blood still in there but nothing this far! Thank you to everyone for sharing your stories. I love that this thread has continued to grow for so long!

48%..what?

b__terflymami - August 25

I'm pretty sure she means the baby is in the 48 percentile for it's size.

I started bleeding @ 7 weeks.. alot of tissue pa__s, and they weren't small tissues, they were big.. one was half the size of my fist. I first thought that that was the baby. I was in such a hesteria.. i called everyone but the doctor.. i was shaking and sooo scared.. becuase we really want this baby. Then... I finally called the doctor and was told to go to the ER. went there and they did an ultrasound and was told that the baby was still there and that everything was fine. But.. they didn't say anything about it being subchorionic bleeding or anything like that.. so went home and was put on bed rest.... it is now 2 weeks later... monday will be 10 weeks for me.. and i started bleeding again.. this time not as heavy.. went into the ER again.. and they did and ultrasound and a v____al ultrasound and found that i had subchorionic bleed and was advised not to have s_x, lift anything heavy, and pelvic rest. They said that the baby was fine and the heartbeat is @ 140.. is that normal? well.. i also saw the baby.. i have another visit with the doctor on tuesday .. so i will let you all know what will happen. But.. they said everything looks good as it should be.

Dear all: I have a good news. I had subchorionic bleeding from the beginning of my pregnancy and it was due to a homozygous C677T mutation of the MTHFR gene. On my due date 8/21, I was induced and Grace was born. She is very healthy and weighs 7 lb and 13 oz. Praise the Lord for what He has done. I will continue to pray for each one of you. Keep up the hope!
