Subchorionic Bleeding

I have recently been diagnosed with a subchorionic bleed @ 6wk 5days. Scared to death to go to the bathroom. A bit let down that drs didn't prescribe bed rest. Bleeding slows when i'm laying down, but I was told there is nothing I can do at this point. Baby has a heartbeat and I'm going back Oct 8 for another u/s, or as I was told, to see if the heart is still beating. I am having a very hard time with this. Have had a miscarriage, ectopic, and went through 3 ivf cycles for this pregnancy. its hard for me to be happy because I'm so used to bad news. Will stay on my face with prayer.... Good luck to you all and may God continue to bless you.

I am so happy I found this thread. I have been bleeding on and off since 6 weeks. I am 13 weeks now. I had an u/s at 9 weeks that did not show anything. I started bleeding again at 10 weeks and again at 11 and 12. I had another u/s yesterday and my dr. said it was bleeding beneath the placenta. She did not say I had to take it easy. The dr. I saw the week before told me to rest and not to over do it. My dr. did not seem that concerned about it, but I am not sure what to do. My beeding typically starts red and then ends 5-6 days later with light brown spotting. I have been bleeding now for over a week. Do you think I should get a second opinion?

I too have had some bleeding, I am only 3 wks and 1 day, and much to my surprise last night I went to the bathroom to discover I was bleeding. I have gone through 3 rounds of fertility drugs to concive, and did I ever panic when I saw blood. Called Dr. he said rest and come in first thing in the morning. I did and they said it is normal, don't worrie...LOL..that is very hard to do. they showed us the sack and said everything looks fine, see you in one week. So pray for us... We will pray for all of you!!!

Sabrina, Good news for you is if you were not diagnosed with a scb then it is likely this early in your pregnancy you are experiencing implantation bleeding (usually brown) or a broken capillari, good luck! VW, I would defenitely go for a second opinion....

I am 61/2 weeks - went for u/s today. All appeared normal (date & 170 hb), with the exception of blood around the sac., The tech did not call it subchorionic bleed but it is sounding an awful lot like it. When I told my Dr. results of u/s she sounded optimistic - did not give me any instructions to rest, stop lifting or no s_x. I am concerned to whether or not I should put myself on rest - which would be very hard since I have 3 other children. The doctor doesn't want to see me for 3-4 weeks which I thought was strange. I thought she might want to monitor the situation? Also, I am on progesterone supplements b/c my prog. levels had been going down. Do \you think that one has to do with the other? I am thinking of changing doctors because I don't feel that this one is monitoring me close enough. I was told the blood in the sac lining is probably from implantation and not to worry --- but then I read these stories ! What would you do? I haven't had any bleeding but some cramping on and off usually when I am on my feet a lot. I do feel lots of pressure in vag. area if I am up often.

everything is confusing to me. I went last week for yet another u/s and was told that my sub was now to small to even measure. I know that its good news but yet I am still spotting and its really hard to determine the exact color. I guess its kind of red but not dark, its so hard to know what to be concerned about.

I understand your desire to still parent you 13 month old while trying to take care of your new baby. I personally feel like there is a happy medium. Relaxing and taking it easy dosent have to mean neglecting your baby. Take as many opportunites to lay down and watch some movies. This too shall pa__s. This will not be forever. So take this next couple of weeks to pamper yourself alittle bit. It sounds like you have a good support group so accept help. My sub is so small now that it cant even be measured so things can get better. I also think its kind of hard for our doctors to give us alot of information because unfortunatly besides having this condition most of us are in the first trimester and there are those who dont make it through minus a sub. I was told over and over again that this IS NOT A BIG DEAL. Every doctor every tecnition has said this exact thing. At my last appointment I was told that 90% of these heal on their own. So try to relax, its the best thing for you and your baby.

I know how you feel and this may be way too much information but I am now speaking from two scb that have healed and I had the same mo with both....Basically you will continue spotting until it is completely healed....The spotting will range from brown to pink/dark red but will not be heavy....It might be enough to make you wear a panty liner (otherwise end up with one spot on your undies) and defenitely there when you wipe....This is your body healing itself...When done healing you may pa__s a clot (thought to be a scab if you will) it will be small (mine was about the size of quarter in diameter) it was dark brown in color) almost like chocolate colored (I KNOW REALLY GROSS) but don't be alarmed...This happened with both of my bleeds...And the next day after pa__sing that clot I stopped spotting and have nothing since....The ultrasound I had confirmed they had both healed....This is why rest is important....I agree you must find a happy balance where you have little ones to care for but when you can take it easy, plenty of water too, that can help the healing....If you want to contact me personally you can email me at jamato253@hotmail.com....

As you all know, I am now 14 weeks pregnant and have had 2 bleeds until this weekend. I woke up Saturday bleeding. I went to the hospital and was monitored in the LDR and just so happens, it was from the same bleed! Thank the Lord! The u/s showed that old blood is still in there to come out, but the baby is great and the doctor told me that my chances of a miscarriage are even lower now by the looks of it! I am ordering maternity clothes today!! I am so excited to get the positive news. I know we all get really down through all of this and it is hard to hear the positives through all the negatives, but if you listen, they are there! I am praying for all of you. Please remember me and my little one in you prayers!

Thank you so much. Everything you have described has or is happening to me. You have truely been more helpful than my doctor. I was so confused on the whole color of the blood and how much and you totolly nailed it! I definetly plan on e-mailing you. You have been such a help. I would love to hear more about your pregnancy.

Ashley, I did not spot either. My sch reabsorbed. I was in bed for 6 weeks and it healed just like a cut would. Well I finally leave South Korea today and get to come home to the USA. I am so excited that I was up at 5 am. I am really nervous to fly, but I really want to be home. I will miss my husband though, he could not get ot of contract here in Korea and will be home 4 weeks from today. I hope that it goes by fast.

I am now 15 1/2 wks and as of today still have a scb. I'm bummed I just knew the u/s would show that it healed b/c I don't really cramp anymore and I've never had any bleeding. I thought I'd be safer in my 2nd trimester but by the looks of it i'm still pretty high risk. I don't know how much more of this I can take. I'm scared to death of losing my baby mid pregnancy.my doc said today that i need to see a maternal fetal specialist.I have an appt Oct 28 and I will be 181/2 wks then. by the way is this no s_x thing killing anyone else. To sharonf I hope you get home safe and congrats on the good news. to julie and the rest of you that have suffered a loss I'm sorry to hear the news.I'm thinking about yall and I'll keep praying for everyone.

Follow up: I went for a 2nd opinion and this doctor was much detailed in his explantion. As a couple people have mentioned, my doctor reiterated that this is not life threatening. He said my baby is not in any danger. He did say that overdoing it is not a good idea and that lifting, s_x and excercise were not a good recommended right now. It was rea__suring to hear the same thing from another doctor. I hope this helps all of you. He did empathize with my fear and anxiety. I do feel better after having met with him. Does that make it better when I am bleeding? Not really, but I am able to be a little more rational about it. I hope this helps. Oh- one other he did say was that he has seen this last through half a pregnancy or more. So I am bracing myself and I am thinking of buying some stock in Kotex- I am going thru pantyliners like they are going out of style!
