Need some advice, my daughter is pregnant, she is 20 years old and this is her second child. Two weeks ago they informed her that her AVP came back showing a high risk for T18, something none of us had ever heard of. We did tons of research and read forums, awaiting the appt with the high risk Dr. The day finally came and they did a Level 2 ultrasound, they feel they found markers to indicate a chance for T18.. Heart defect, CVC's, and strawberry shaped head. Prior to this the main marker was clenched fists, but at the high risk ultrasound both hands were wide open and it seemed she was waving at us. My daughter has been an absolute wreck and had an amnio three days ago, as we are waiting for the FISH results hopefully today. Has anyone had similar situation, markers, etc...? Need some advice and maybe some hope for a better outcome then the dr's are already predicting. Thank you for any advice or story you can offer to give me a direction or sense of hope and faith.

I am so sorry you are going through this khogue33! I had a DNA blood test at 11 weeks and found out at 13 1/2 weeks that it was positive for Trisomy 18. When I went in to find out results of the test the Dr. said the next step was to have amnio to confirm and when she did did ultrasound my baby did not have a heartbeat. In a way it was a blessing that I did not have to make the decision to end the pregnancy. Trisomy 18 babies do not usually survive the pregnancy and if they do they usually end up passing shortly after birth. I ended up having a D&C and when we got the pathology results it was confirmed my baby did have Trisomy 18.
