I quit taking Paxil when I found out I was pregnant as directed by my Dr. She said she wants me back on it after I deliver. I am a little worried b/c when I first got on it a couple of years ago... I was depressed for 2 days. I am afraid what it will do this time. I am wondering if I should go on it in the hospital IMMEDIATELy, or wait til I go home. I konw this is something I will need to ask my Dr when the time comes, but I was wondering if anyone else had stories to share about it. I am hoping too this will help to combat the possibility of PPD!

I don't know if this will help but I went on a newer drug called lexapro for anxiety and ppd. It worked within one day I felt a difference. No side effects at all. There is a thread from about a couple months ago I wrote in. It worked wonders for me.

Thanks. I will check with my dr and see which is better for me. Is Lexapro for anxiety, though, or just ppd? I was on it for anxiety... it is just that it made me depressed for the 1st couple days and that is the last thing I want with the chance of ppd after delivery!!

It is both for anxiety and depression.

Try Zoloft-for everything and better studied with less side effects.

well i'm 18 yearsold with my 2nd child i was diagnose with anxiety disorder last year with my first doughter now i'm 37 wks pregnant with 2nd child and was taking prozac it did great but it takes up to 3-8 wks for side effects i stop taking it and my anxiety and panic attacks came back

be thankful you were only depressed a little when you went off paxil. that medication needs to be banned. so addictive and not long after you stop taking it you lose yourself.
