I just had my daughter on tuesday, but I am feeling just fine. The doctor said to wait 6 weeks before excersizing again, but I can't figure out why. Has anyone started earlier than that? Do you think it would matter if I did just really light excersize like walking to burn off some calories?

I'm not to sure, but I would suggest listening to your dr.s recommendation. Im sure some walking wouldnt hurt, but you can always check in with your dr. before the 6 week check up.

My doctor told me to wait only 4 weeks.

I have heard that you do not want to overexert yourself because you can promote further bleeding in your uterus. You need to give it time to heal, especially if you had a c-section or st_tches. I had neither. Most of my bleeding has stopped at 4 weeks now, so I have been doing some light exercises: walking, some ab work, etc. I lost 20 out of 45 lbs in the first four weeks without doing anything other than sleeping and b___stfeeding. I would wait a couple of weeks in your position. Good luck

I was out and walking 5 days or so after I had both my kids. My doctor said it's okay as long as it's not too much. I was walking roughly a mile a day but it was leisure walking and slow. I would say it's okay to walk some, as long as you are not bleeding very heavily or overly exhausted. BUT, IF YOU DO GO WALKING, TAKE LOTS OF WATER AND AND EAT A LIGHT SNACK BEFORE YOU GO. BTW, Congrats on your baby, too. :o)
