Postpartum Bleeding

Hi. I'm not sure where to post this question but I'll try here and hopefully I'll get a few responses. I had my son November 14, 2005. I will be 5 weeks PP tomorrow and I am still having alot of bleeding and cramping. I was just wandering if any of you could tell me what your bleeding/cramping was like around 5 weeks PP and how long the bleeding/cramping normally lasts? I know that it is different for every woman but this is my first child so any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

HI AMY, I HAD MY SON ON NOV. 9TH. I BLED FOR ABOUT 1 1/2 WEEKS. THEN FOR ABOUT ANOTHER WEEK HAD VERY LIGHT, MUCUSY PINKISH DISCHARGE . ITS NOW BEEN 5 1/2 WEEKS AND I HAVE NOTHING COMING OUT. I ALSO HAD NO CRAMPING. AND I BREASTFEED TOO. AND HAD VAGINAL BIRTH. WHEN DO YOU GO TO YOUR FOLLOW UP EXAM WITH YOUR DOCTOR?? IT SHOULD BE SOON- JUST LET THEM KNOW. KEEP US UPDATED.

i bled really heavy, period like for about a week or so, then it gradually petered out. i think i finally stopped having pinkish discharge at about 6-7 weeks pp.

I'll be 8 weeks postpartum this week, and my bleeding is just starting to stop.....I hope. I have had light cramping on and off for the past 8 weeks.

I had baby #2 December 4th. I only had heavy discharge for 4 or 5 days with a few clots. (I also had bad cramping esp. when b___stfeeding) It slowed down and stopped around 5 weeks. This is the end of week 7 and I've had a little pink discharge every morning the last few days. With baby #1, I bled off and on for 6 weeks and didn't get my period back til he was 9 months old. I'm hoping I'll stop soon--looking after a newborn and a 2 1/2 year old I am more active this time around so I expected to bleed longer.
