Tubes Tied And Birth Control

I am 39 and just had my 6th child. I am going to ask about gettting my tubes tied at my 6 week appointment on Wednesday. The only thing is that I don't want to have to deal with regular periods again. i was on birth control for 10 years and liked the light periods and no bloating and other discomforts. Does anyone know of anyone who had their tubes tied and went on some sort of birth control to control their periods?

I had my tubes tied after my 3rd was born. Bear with me as I give you the background to what my OB said... I got my first PP period 10 months after that birth and it came back super heavy (it always had been). TMI, but I was soaking a super plus tampon and overnight maxi about every 30-45 minutes. It's a problem that all the females in my family have had and, for my mom, aunt and grandma led to hysterectomies in their early- mid 30s. Anyway, all that long story to say... when I went to my OB to discuss options to get the bleeding under control, (because I was becoming anemic), one suggestion he threw out there was hormonal bc or an IUD with hormones. Neither was a good option for me as I get awful migraines from hormonal bc (ended up chosing to have a uterine ablation instead)... but it sounds like it's not too out of the ordinary for women to be prescribed bc after a tubal from how he was talking.
