I posted this question on the br___tfeeding, so sorry if you read it already, but I am looking for more imput. I am heaving headaches. I am a little over two weeks post-Partum and am having headaches. Not migrains but really annoying headaches and wondering if any body else is experiencing this and what works? Ibuprofin does not work and tylenol sorta works. I thought perhaps it was allergies but benydrl didn't work.

My doc suggested tension headaches. I am guessing that is half the headaches. I think its possibly a sinus infection too.. grrrr I am miserable.

ashley- I had the same thing. My doctor told me to drink something with caffine and take 2 extra strenght tylenol. That did the trick. I still have the sinus infection but the headache has gone away.

My baby will be six weeks old tomm and i have had headaches since i gave birth. I noticed that they get worse when i dont get much sleep. My doctor really does not know what is causing them. I have tried caffine, 800 mg Ibuprophen, EX strength tylenol and the only think that works is the Percaset that they gave me as pain relief at the hospital but that just puts me to sleep. I have not found anything that helps except more sleep. Hope yours get better!

Hi Ashley,
I am BFing too, so I don't like to depend medications unless I am faced with an emergency. Before pregnancy I got migraines, but after giving birth I have been getting a new kind of pain. It is like the begining of a migraine that stays, but doesn't progress. The are not debilitating, but they are a pain and make it hard to play with my LO. I discovered that they were tension headaches and could be cured with a warm shower in the dark (let the water run over you neck and head) and s_x ( my husband likes this one). For the latter I don't move very much, and just wait for the endorphins to kick in.

I'm not in postpartum (well, ok I am, but it's been 13 months- hehe), but I just STOPPED bfing a month ago and now I have terrible tension headaches most days. I've given up taking anything, because nothing works. I've always been prone to migraines, but these aren't migraines (whew!), but it's getting annoying.I find myself getting short-tempered with my kids (ages 6, 2 1/2 and 13 months). Maybe I'll trek to the doctor, but I really hope they go away on their own, because my doctor is a traffic-crazy hour away. I also have nausea with them and don't have much of an appet_te. (And, no, I'm definitely not pregnant- I just had a period AND my tubes are tied). Good luck in finding a cure. It's no fun to be in pain:(
