i've been thinking about using the lady-comp fertility moniter as contraceptive along with condoms but wonder if it works while br___tfeeding? anyone have experience with this? i br___tfeed my 8 week old exclusively and plan to do so until he can eat food...no formula ever. i have not had a period and wonder if this will work since i'm not yet cycling? i was going to use an iud but was scared off by the whole pregnancy and miscarriage disscusion i saw on this sight.

Breast feeding can throw off your natural cycle so monitering your cycles is going to be tricky. They may not be normal until you quite bf. I didn't have a period with either of my girls until they were 5 and 6 months old. I knew a lady who did natural family planning and got pregnant before the return of her cycles. She got pregnant the first time she was fertile after her baby was born. If you use condoms it will help with the bc part. Since having s_x right before you ovulate can get your pregnant and you dont know you ovulate until it is happening it is hard to moniter your cycles with an irregular period. I used the mini pill and sitll ended up pregnant. We are using a diff brand of mini pill this time and I am making sure I take it at the same time every day. I also would not try the IUD after reading about the m/c story. I had a m/c and would not wish that on anyone....I would concider using something besides the fertility monitering until you stop bf and regain a normal cycle.

well, that makes sense, but my period just started, since i'm still b___stfeeding tho do you think it will be regular now? i haven't changed anything about his feedings, i just feed him on demand.
