Vaginal Bleeding Newborn Girl

well i was wondering for those who have baby girls. my baby bleed a little of blood when i changed her only here and there. is that normal for your baby?? and how long does it go away? i feel bad whenever i changed her diaper and wipe her because i feel that im not being gentle. =[ let me know what you girls think??

Your hormones are still in her bloodstream -- what you're seeing is actually a bit of a period. It's perfectly normal and goes away on it's own pretty quickly as your hormones leave her body. Similar things happen to boys -- they can be born with swollen genitals and sometimes even leaking a bit of fluid from their nipples! Oh, the strange things you never hear before you have a kid of your own. :)

I have 3 girls and I noticed it with only my youngest, who is 9 mos now, when she was newborn for about a month whenever I wiped her there was a little spot here and there and I too, thought I was being too rough. But after having 3 I don't think it was me being rough, but just a little blood mixed in with the discharge that girls have right after they're born. If it doesn't go away after a couple weeks maybe check with your Dr.
