I'm not sure, I was wondering too, what's on your mind?

I think it depends on your depression. Are you having feelings of hurting yourself? Why are you depressed? I think a lot of women go through toght times when they are pregnant in general and their babies are usually fine. Hopefully you are not leting these feelings interfere with your nutrition and basic pregnancy care. Good luck to you, and I would suggest prayer to ease your feelings of depression.

I heard your body releases different things into your blood stream but in my personal experience, I had a teen pregnancy and everyday was an on going state of stress. I am not lying when I tell you this but my son is the happiest baby I have EVER come in contact with. I have 5 younger sisters and two younger brothers and I don't remember one baby being as happy as he is. Also, if you are afraid your baby is being affected, after he/she is born, I held my son every second I got throughout the day/night and I think when you put love into something, it gives back.

I recently read that high levels of stress, anxiety, and depression produce high levels of cortisol, which do get pa__sed on to the baby. A study was done that showed that some babies, whose moms were depressed during pregnancy, and did produce high levels of cortisol (usually later in pregnancy) had children that were more likely to suffer from depression themselves.
