I found out I was pregnant around 5 weeks or so. I am now 14 weeks. In the beginning I checked my weight. I went to the doctor today for the first time and checked it on different scale. I gained 20 pounds. I feel bad and horrible because I'm scared. I need to go back to the old scale I used. I feel stressed because school is about to start and I'm carrying a full load at school. When I feel stressed I turn to food. Can anyone please give me advice on how to eat right and what exercises I can do. Thanks ?

Well, I think that you should stick with your old scale because your weight will gain the same on either scale. Your old scale might show that you are lighter than you actually are but your weight gain will be true. I am having the same problem on my scale I weigh 140lb but at the doctor's I weigh 145lbs...really it doesn't matter what the number says. It is more important that you are gaining reguarly. I am 12 weeks and have gained 10lbs...you are not alone!

me too! omg i don't know what to do, i am usually like 120-130 lbs on average and befor e i got pregnant i was running 2-3 times a week for 40-60 minutes a day, i only stopped exercising vigorously around march 10th or so.it's only been like a month and a half since i stopped,so i don't even know how that's possible unless i am further along. I had my first appointment today and i am like 142 lbs!!

I go by my home scale and not the doctors. For one thing at my first doc appt they asked how much I normally weighed. I told them 126. And they are using that as the base weight. But I started to notice I weigh about 5lbs heavier on their scale than my one at home. So it always seems like I gained more than I have.

Hey Nad, don't worry about it, I always weight 5 pounds more on my dr's scale. I just don't pay attention to what they tell me. I'm tracking my own weight at home. I was 9 weeks when I went to the dr. and they said I weighted 130lb. At home I'm weighting 124 lb. I don't know what's up with the scales and which one is telling the truth. I prefer to think is mine.
