I looked into this - while there is nothing conclusive the general consensus was that if you are going to - avoid doing it on a regular basis, and avoid stuff with High % of peroxide. There are some good natural dyes on the market - try www.spiritofnature.com

There are salons now, that when done correctly, they use a natural coloring that is suppose to not contain some of the chemicals in regular dyes, and it looks as good as regular.

Highlights I heard is okay as foils never touch the scalp but if it the chemical does touch the scalp like a whole head shampoo type hear colouring then I wouldn't recommend it. Go for foil highlights!

Oh my goodness - dying your hair does NOT cause miscarriages, that is totally ridiculous. Miscarriages are most often caused by chromosome abnormalities at conception and have nothing to do with external factors.

During my 1st pregnancy I dyed my hair back to its natural color, but only to cut down on extra costs. Being supersticious, I waited until after my 12th week. I am now 6 weeks pregnant with my second and I will highlight my hair with this pregnancy after asking my Dr first. Looking pretty is always a plus!

Highlights are ok. I got highlights all throughout my pregnancy and my boy is fine! I think people are over-paranoid about certain things. Don't go tanning, though. :)
