I've been walking/running on my treadmill and also doing a lot of situps for the past half year. Now I missed 2 periods and I'm positive I'm pregnant. I've had 2 kids before and I know my body. But...I'm still getting negative hpt! Could there be a corilation between low levels of hcg and excersize? I really don't want to go the doc yet cause my husbans insurance just changed and we would have to pay everything out of pocket. Any advice would be welcome!!! Thanks!

I am no doctor, but I'm pretty sure exercise has no effect on hcg. Lots of women (myself included) regularly work out pretty vigorously pre-pregnancy and still have high hcg levels, but sometimes women produce a low amount for other reasons. If you're sure you are pregnant and don't want to go to a doctor yet, could you maybe go to a clinic like Planned Parenthood to have a blood test?

Thanks for the advice, Karen! I didn't think about that before and maybe I should consider doing that.
Do you know what some reasons are for low levles of hcg? I'm just trying to figure out why it showed right away with my first two kids and it's taking so long with this one.

I am not sure what causes low hcg levels.....I dont know if anyone really knows the answer to that. If you are getting negative hpt's, and no period.....do you think it could be possible that the amount of exercising could be effecting your period? When I was in high school/college I exercised every day with allot of intensity. I would only get my period about 5 or 6 times/year. I was told that allot of exercising can do that (espically if you have low body fat). I do not work out that vigerously anymore, and (before I got pregnant) my periods returned to normal, coming every month. Just thought I would pipe in, as this could be another reason for the missed period, but negative hpt.

Jane, I was getting my periods regular up until the month we started trying for a baby, so it seems logical that I'm pregnant. I conceived imediately with my first 2 kids and I kinda expected it to happen the same way again. I've really slowed down with the excerising and my period hasn't come, just lots of clear discharge - the same thing I had with my son. I have so many symptoms...everything but a positive hpt!!! I would probably be about 7 weeks along by now.
