Is cycling ok during pregnancy (particularly cycling to/from work in a big city and obviously only until the bump makes it uncomfortable)? I have read mixed views on this and most websites refer to stationary cycling as being ok but do not comment on road cycling.

I know a friend who bike raced on and off road until she was over 32 weeks pregnant. mom and baby are super healthy. my doctor told me that anything your body is used to doing it can keep doing, but be careful starting a new exercise program. But if you are used to cycling every day to work, then give'r.

I don't think it's the actual cycling that is a problem, I still spin at the gym and I'm 28 wks but it's the danger of hurting yourself if you fall off the bike or get hit since you are cycling in the street.

I am a cycling instructor and have been teaching a little over 2 years. I also ride out of the gym and the doctor told me to continue doing what I am doing and my body is use to. If something is wrong and you are hurting the baby, your body will let you know! Personally, I think it is good for you and wouldn't stop unless you had serious problems.
