Exercise Amp Trying To Get Pregnant

We have just started trying to get pregnant. I do aerobics, light running & free weight work regularly (5-6 times/week). Can I continue to do this? Will it lower my chances of conception?

Hi Wendy, I too am extremely acitve- heavy weight training, hiking, etc. The doctor informed me that being active is a very good thing for me. I have always been an " athlete", and he said that because I have no health problems, there is no reason to stop exercising. The key is to not try to lean down, or do heavy intense training- such as marathon trainning,etc. My advice is that you can train hard, just be more aware that you do not over stress or strain your systems. I hope this helps.

as long as your not working out so much that your periods are out of wack, it should not decrease your chances at conception. i had a friend who ran so much that her periods were crazy, of course then it would be harder to conceive.
