I am 4'11 and about 40 lbs. overweight. I am 6 weeks preg. I'm worried because I ALREADY weigh more than I should at full term. I don't want to lose wight while preg, but would love to lose fat. Is it possible to eat healthy and excercise and maybe keep my weight stable because of eating right and not gain more weight? Any advice?

I am in your shoes only I would venture to guess and say I was 70 lbs. Overweight. I am now 18 weeks and being carefull sometimes and I have only gained 7 lbs. My doctor said she wants me to gain 20 and that I will lose all the baby weight and more after. Also I enrolled in water aerobics to help stay active.

I wouldnt be too worried about it when you have a baby its not just the babies weight you gain but the weight of all the fluid and placenta and things so wait until the baby is born then worry about your weight enjoy being pregnant!

I'm in the Army, so we do "Pregnancy Physical Training" every morning - it's mainly just walking, but there's some flexibility, and some muscle strengthening involved, also. It's nothing too strenuous...if you're interested, I can try and look up exactly what the program is, and link it here.
