HELP How Long Can I Exercize For

I used to swim 3x a week, about 6k, bike about 100 miles, and usually have 40 mpw worth or running. I still swim, have cut biking down to 4 hours a week, and still run about the same. In fact, I just completed a half marathon this past sunday. I'm just starting my 8th week of pregnancy. I'm planning on doing this as long as I can. I've got a polar hrm, and plan on jumping on a computrainer in lieu of road biking once I get 5 months or so. Any others out there working out?

I'm 29 weeks and still go to the gym 3xs a week (do cross trainer and a few weight machines). Up until last week I was still playing some softball, and I also have horses at home, so I clean stalls most days and still ride a little. Overall, I feel great for 7 months, but in all activities, I've cut back (shorter workout at gym and longer rest periods..in softball I had a pinch runner from first base...and my husband now helps with the barn chores.) The trick is to NOT over-exert yourself to the point of exhaustion. Also, I've been very upfront with my dr about my activity level. He's been okay with everything to date.

I should add that my preg has been low risk for any complications, and that the baby is healthy. The exercise helped keep my size down (didn't show til recently), but I'm gaining weight at a normal rate adn the baby is right on track.

If you are fit and healthy there is noreason why you can not continue. I would see your doctor though to get his or her ok. I have read that after the first 12 weeks you should not be riding a bike. There ia a recomended weight gain for all pregnant women , as long as you eatting enough for baby to grow you should be able to maintain your fitness.

I am almost 26 weeks and I am still running 2-3 miles 4 times a week...I am a lot slower and it does not look as pretty but I feel good when I am done! I hope to keep on going for a while!
