I am 33 weeks and have gained 17 pounds. I too, have been hungry all the time, but live on small bowls of fortified cereal as snacks and then small, healthy meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I would like to excercise but am basically worn out after working all day then taking the three girls to all their stuff....

I started gaining alot of weight around midway through my pregnancy. I also had hypertension so I retained a lot of water. How is your blood pressure? I was 135-145 lbs and ended up at 200 lbs when I had my son. At 28 weeks I weighed 178 lbs. I managed to gain weight normally for 3 weeks near the end of my pregnancy by eating lots of fruits and veggies, getting a lot of calcium, drinking water, and cutting my sodium intake to very little. If you eat carbs, make sure you eat some sort of protein with it so you can digest most of the carbs instead of store them. How is your exercise? I found walking outside was boring not to mention tough with my allergies so I would go to stores or the mall and walk around.

im 29 weeks, close to 30, and ive gained about 15 lbs. throughout the whole thing. 5 in the last couple weeks. right now i feel like a freakin whale, but i guess that is normal right? haha. ive got those last 10 weeks to go, and hes got to gain about 4.5 lbs., so that means i have to gain that much more.. and then some. just remember every woman is different. whats her name.. kate winslet.. she gained 80 lbs. with pregnancy. granted she had all the money for all the best trainers and everything afterwards, but she is an example we have all seen of someone reeeeeeeeally small getting really big... dont sweat it. talk to your ob, and ask if you are gaining too fast. most likely you arent...

I am 23 weeks and have gained 10 pounds. I am 5'4" and was 120 before I got pregnant, pretty average. I still have morning sickness, so I am surprised I have gained that much. Is this your first pregnancy?

I am 25 weeks and have gained 17 pounds. I am very short (less than 5 ft.) so it looks just as if I swallowed a contest winner pumpkin. Up until week #20 people could not tell I was pregnant and I still fit in my size 2 jeans, suddenly I ballooned overnight and has not stopped since. Within a couple weeks I went from "your belly is so small for 6 months!" to "WOW, NOW YOU ARE REALLY SHOWING!" and I am trying to take the entire thing with some humor. I ADMIT I indulge more than before, but most of the time I eat very healthy, small portions, and exercise at least 5 days a week. To me it is a lot, but noone that I know personally (mom, friends, relatives....) has gained less than 30 pounds, most of them went back to their prepreg. weight and my doctor says that up to 35 pounds is reasonable (to me sounds terrifying!). If the rule of 1 pound per week after second trimester is true, I will end up 32 pounds heavier instead of the 25 I had as a personal goal. Maybe what I have read from other moms posting here is true, let´s try to focus more on enjoying pregnancy and less on getting fat. After all, b___stfeeding will require a lot of it!!! (like 1000 cals per day, they say!)

With my DD I gained 40lbs. I lost 10 immediately with delivery. It took 8 months to loose the rest. But I was b___stfeeding (BF) until she was over a year and on her 1 yr birthday I weighed 10 lbs less than prepregnancy. BF is awesome for weight loss!!!
