How Much Is Too Much Exercise

I have always been real big on exercising and I don't know if I should slow down now that I am 7 weeks pregnant. I enjoy taking spinning classes. Are they harmful to my baby?

I am a fitness instructor of 20 years and 3 children later. I instructed up to the day that I delivered, I had no complications and my doctor knew everything that I was doing. I would monitor your heart rate, and play safe.

I think it's not wrong to exercise they have cla__ses where you can go to for pregnant women. It's always important to listen to your body and not over work yourself to the point where your baby could be affected. There's also areobic tapes for pregnancy. I have a tape and I do it 3x a week.

I am 3 months pregnant and have been taking spinning cla__ses for years on a very regular basis. When I found out I was pregnant I stopped doing them because I thought it would be harmful. Then, I spoke to my doctor and all my instructors about it and they all said that it is a good sport for pregnancy (because there is no jumping involved and no pressure on your joints or risks of falling), and that I only needed to listen to my body and take it easier than usual. Make sure your handlebar is higher than your seat (so you don't use your stomach muscles as much) and drink plenty of water to avoid overheating. And of course, when you feel a cramp or anything like that, slow down and rest for one song or so. I suggest that you tell the instructor you are pregnant before the cla__s so he/she knows not to push you too hard and to get his/her feedback - it will probably rea__sure you.
