No matter how much exercise I do I keep loosing my muscle tone in my thighs and buttocks. I have religiously been exercising everyday and working on these areas but no matter how many squats, lunges I do my legs seem to be at their worst. Why? anyone have a solution?

i have the same problem! and i found out it is a nasty little combination of water weight and maternal fat stores, my sister was really tiny when she got pregnant and her b___t and legs blew up and a few days after having the baby they went back down to almost normal size just like they were really swollen, i would just relax and not worry about working them bc i dont think theyre going anywhere, mine are doing the same, and i have cellulite(sp) down the back and i dont know how to get rid of it!:(

That is so wierd, I was just complaining to my husband about that very thing (he looked at me like I was crazy) I was very muscular before becoming pregnant and I haven't quit working out... but my muscle tone is fading!

So these maternal fat stores go away on their own? It seems like you would have to work them off. I have noticed it in my arms, thighs, and b___tucks. I've gained 12 pounds so far, 16 weeks. As long as you eat right and work out though I'm not going to stress it, or be to hard on my body image. Just don't over do it and pig out all the time.

I've also heard that the progesterone that your body makes while pg relaxes your muscles making things feel and look flabby. Goodness I hope this is true because all of a sudden I feel SOFT :(

LOL I have the exact same problem, diem! I'm also blaming the progesterone. During February, I was doing 30 pushups off my toes and 30 handstands every day (looong story) as well as other exercise like karate, kayaking, cycling, etc. I managed to put on 5kg during the month, but LOSE 1.5cm off each bicep and no more bicep dent LOL! So yeah, it's the progesterone!
