I could switch to the elliptical or treadmill at the gym but I've always used the stair climber because my former personal trainer told me it burns more calories. Should I switch to some other cardio exercise?
Also how do you know if you're overheating? I do the equivalent of 2-3 miles and really break into a sweat.

I'm not sure how true this is, but I have heard that the constant up-down motion of climbing stairs can cause the cord to wrap around the babies neck. Not to mention, you are not supposed overheat when you are pregnant so try to go easier. I would suggest using the treadmill. Also, make sure you have a bunch of water so you don't dehydrate. It can happen without you even realizing it.

BP- I go to the gym 3 to 4 times/week and I usually just do the treadmill for 30 min or so. I used to do pretty strenuous workouts pre-pregnancy ( so my body is used to work-outs). I find that if I overdue even the treadmill I get strong BH contractions and sometimes cramps. That may be something to ask your doctor about on your next visit. I also dont know how far along in pregnancy you are. If you are in the 3rd trimester....that may be a little much. If you are early on in your pregnancy....its probably still OK to do.
