Hi! I'm 26 wks and my pre-pregnancy wieght was 133 lbs at 24 wks I had gained 20 lbs putting me at 153 lbs my next doctors appointment is next week. I am afraid to get on the scale. I take 30 min walk 5 times a wk and don't drink soda or eat fast food at all. Where is all this wieght coming from? lol and what is the normal wieght I should have gained by now? Any advice you can give me will be appreciated.

You can't worry about it. You're doing everything right...being as healthy as possible, try to ignore the scale. I was very small w/my first pregnancy, not so small this time around but in both cases....even when i was tiny, i gained 35 some pounds. With last one and this one, I go to the gym, and still play softball (i'm currently 26 weeks as well), and eat pretty healthy, so I have to a__sume, that this is just the way i'm supposed to be. The fitness will help you carry the weight and prob help you return to your pre-preg weight afterward, so don't worry too much about it.

I'm in the same boat you are - I'm 26 weeks too and have gained 22 pounds as of today. I also walk 30 minutes a day 5 times a week , swim and do yoga and I just seem to keep packing on the pounds! I'm so afraid I'm going to gain 60 pounds by the time this is over or have a 30 pound baby : ) My ob hasn't said anything at all about my weight gain so I'm a__suming that I'm on the right track. I guess if we just keep active then hopefully we'll lose it pretty fast after we deliver.

Sounds like you are doing fine. i have gained 20-30 and am only 22 weeks! Remember there are lots of places the weight goes, your b___bs,increased blood, amniotic fluid, baby, womb and only a few pounds probably go to other extra places! google "pregnancy weight breakdown" it will give you a general idea on one of those websites. the one i just read said 6 lbs in the first trimester and a pound a week after that.

Don't worry! As long as you're exercising and eating healthy you're fine. I gained well above the recommended amount with both of my children--50lbs by the end! With my first I lost it all and then some by a year later, and with my second I lost it all +about 10 lbs after about 5 months. I think nursing along with exercise made me lose it so fast. So, just be healthy, don't worry!

oh honey at least you're not me. I'm a fairly small/average person- about 5'4 115 lbs- and with my first I gained about 65 lbs and with my second probably 55 lbs. This is my third and I am trying SO hard not to gain as much weight. With me the weight came from eating CRAP and not exercising. All I want to eat is complete c___p with my last two pregnancies and I am trying to do my best to eat healthy this time. It sounds like you're doing better than I was at your stage. Expect to gain about a pound a week in the last trimester (at least).

Everyone is different. My first I gained a total of 60lbs and I ate right! With my second, I gained 45lbs, and I ate whatever I wanted, chicken wings every night....etc... this time, I've eaten mostly fruit and veggies, but drink pop and eat chips and popcorn a few times a week. I am 30 weeks and I've only gained 11lbs! So each is different! :)

You and I are very similar. I started this pg at 132 (i'm 5'8") and am 27 weeks. At my 26 week appt I had gained 22# total. Both my OB and perinatologist are very happy with that. Gone are the days of OBs telling women to gain no more than 10 #. They look at your pre-pg weight and height before telling you your target. Mine told me to gain about 35#. I think you're doing fine!

Where is all the weight coming from? The baby! lol... don't worry, I'm 20 weeks and have gained 17 lbs already. I eat healthy and exercise plenty and I'm actually "skinny" as far as a pregnant woman at my stage goes. Calm down and don't worry about your weight until after the baby. ;)

Everyone seems to gain a lot with their first. I worked out pretty much until the end and really didn't eat much differently than before pregnancy, and I still gained 50 lbs. With this one I've gained 27 lbs and I'm 36 wks. I think it's just the way your metabolism shifts, you really can't do anything about it. Just keep trying to be healthy and know that that's just the way your body is meant to adjust to the pregnancy.

And also don't feel too much pressure to lose it all quickly. Since I was nursing I was expecting it to just melt off as long as I exercised and ate well, but I kept an extra 15 lbs., until AFTER I stopped nursing, at which point it just came off.
