Working Out And No Weight Gain

Hi ladies - I'm 18 weeks, and I will ask my doctor at my next appointment (2 weeks), but I want your thoughts. I was overweight when I got pregnant, and I didn't gain any weight until the 16 week appointment (3 lbs.). I'm thinking that maybe I hadn't gained any weight prior to that because I was faithfully doing my prenatal yoga dvd workout. The week before my 16 week appointment, I maybe did the workout once. Now I am really putting forth the effort to do my workout 3 or 4 times per week, and I want to see if that may slow the weight gain. Before anyone has a cow thinking I don't want to gain any weight, let me tell you this: my doctor told me at the very first appointment that I could get away with gaining only 15 - 20 lbs. for the whole pregnancy, due to starting out overweight. Thanks for any input!

My doctor also told me to gain 18-20lbs. I am now 20w and I have gained 5 lbs. I have been walking maybe once a week, but not doing too much else different other than watching what I eat. You are fine. I wouldn't worry at all. At first, I started exercising, but it started to hurt my back, so I had to stop. Now I only do like stretching type or leg lifts. Maybe that little bit helps, who knows.

I was told by my dr that due to my being over weight to begin with I could actually safely lose weight or stay at the same weight thru the whole pregnancy. ( Not that that has happened at all so far...lol ) As long as you are still eating healthy, the baby will be fine and only take what it needs.
