Hi everyone.. my question is is it really okay to jog when pregnant? i just found i was pregnant on saturday. Im a very active 22 year old.. i run 4 days a week close to two miles per day.. i know i cant do that any more but i feel so restless i don't know what to do! im going for my first doctor visit tomorrow.. but do you ladies have any ideas for a new mom?

Run, run, run! Do what you've always done as long as you are not at high risk. Your body will let you know if you are doing too much as well as your doctor. I'm still running at least 3 miles 3-4 days a week and hope to run until I'm in labor; I'm currently at 35 weeks and feeling great. There is some great research on pregnancy and running/activity by...oh, I think his name is Dr. something Clapp III. Its been such a long time since I've read it but its the most up to date literature and actual medical studies on the topic. Try to ignore the people that really have no background to offer information regarding this subject, there are plenty of them, but none are pre-natal exercise physiologists--they are just misinformed overadvice givers!
