I'm 20 weeks. Before pregnancy I bicycled. Now I'm trying stationary. Only problem is my knees hurt for the first 20 minutes. They don't hurt after that or bother me during other activities. Anyone else have this or know the cause?

As someone with bad knees and a stationary bike, my first suggestions are good knee braces and less tension on the bike setting. All the joints "loosen up" while we are pregnant, so the same exertion may be causing a problem now, compared to pre-pregnancy.

Curibus? Are you biking while pregnant? If so; How much of a sweat do you feel comfort working to?

I'm 27 weeks with our first, but I really have not been on the bike in quite a while. I do a yoga for pregnancy workout dvd 3 x per week instead. When I was biking, I still would only work my way up to 2 miles at a time, on very low tension, otherwise my knees would say no way!

I biked a lot before pregnancy too, and have had bad knees for a while. If you are using an upright bicycle, it may be that you have the seat too low or too high. That usually makes a big difference with me.
