Does anyone know if an elliptical machine is okay? I am only 7w and I was thinking of buying one to keep myself in shape during pregnancy.

I have heard they are good to use. I am 31w and I have been using it since the day I conceived. My dr said it was fine. Just don't know how long I can keep doing it...

I have one. and I lOVE it. Very safe to use. No bouncing. Does not hurt your knees. I would make sure you try them out before buying cuz they are all different. Some have longer srtides and the arm placement, that type of thing. Depending on your build and height. I use mine almost everyday. I am 6 weeks. Good luck

I am so glad to hear these responses. I have an elliptical and I love it. I found out today i am pregnant and was wondering if i would have to stop. What do you do about you heart rate? do you have to go at a slower pace?

My doctor told me it is fine just as long as you can speak normally while doing it. I guess if you can't speak normally, you're too out of breath.

I used my elliptical during early pregnancy, but had to stop because it just felt as if my heartrate was getting too high - I could really feel it beating hard, even when I tried to go slow. I took up walking instead, and plan to go back to the elliptical to get back in shape after the baby's here!

I use the elliptical 3 times a week for 50 mins and prefer it to walking, cycling or any other exercise while pregnant. I feel I get a better and more complete workout without going short of breath. Just keep track of your heartrate (should not go beyond 140 bpm) , stop every 20 mins to drink some water and listen to your body, stop inmediatly if you don´t feel well. I am 26 weeks.
