I do light weights everyday. I did before I was pregnant and will continue until I have the baby. I do biceps and triceps with 8lbs each, so I am sure 3 lbs is fine, as long as your doctor has not put you on any special restrictions or as long as you are not high risk. I also do all kinds of other exercises and walk. Just listen to your body and drink lots of water.

Jade - I agree with Melissa. I have been working out for 2 years prior to my pregnancy and on an average of 4 days a week. I am continuing to lift free weights and work out 3 days a week during my pregnancy. I am lifting 15 to 20 lbs for my biceps and triceps. However; like Melissa stated listen to your body, drink lots of H2O and check with your doctor.

thanks Melissa and Michele, good to hear that ur still working out.it encorages me. I used to wok wth 5 pounds but it gave me tough muscle quickly coz i dont hv fat on hands, and i wanted lean muscle, so i shifted to 3.5, but now i hv quit gym and couldn't get 3.5 in stores so got 3 . i m happy to start again. *:o)

I'm trying to. I use 5 lb weights. I specifically asked my Dr. and he said it was fine. Hope that helps.
