Jenny & Jamie,
I just wanted to update...I still have not seen the doc, but did see twins and two heartbeats at 8 weeks. When I asked NP about testing ANA she said it would not make a difference. I am banking on prayer, progesterone, and baby aspirin to get me through this very long first trimester. As long as we make it to 2006 I venture to 2nd tri. Thanks for you advice and concern. Luck and prayers to all of us as we continue to try!!

kim - will be thinking of you, too!! good luck with the first trimester - you're so close, i think it's a good sign. and positive thinking (yours) is the best sign of all - keep positive and take care.

Kim- just wanted to see how you are doing. I am still trying to conceive again. good luck but again i would demand to have your ana, antiphosholipid, lupus, sed count, etc tested while u r preg. if there are changes, elevations, etc. you have them to show and go by.

I recent went to the doc with ach in joints most by my hips and all over, test results came back all good except my ana. I too had 3 mc 4 live biths , mc were first before they figured out my body needed progesterone shots!! It seems to be a link between ana, aches pains, mc, and other antibody problems. my baby is 9mo and just recent I started having the ach pains in joints (diag with fibromialgia) I do want 1 more baby but since this elev ana I don't want to be more at risk to develop any thing else. It is more important to be well for the children that I do have instead of wanting another if it came down to that.. confused??? any sugges? thanks, its nice to see you all with same thing that I am going through thanks!!

Jamie Jenny & others- I am writing with an update. I had the high ANA (all other tests normal); concieved twins in Oct. and am 15.5 weeks along. Everything looks good although I did have a VERY low progesterone early on and took suppositories up to 12 weeks. (2/day)
I am taking 1 baby aspirin (still) and dr. refuses to do any other tests while pregnant. (like ana, ect) I certainly wouldn't want anything to happen since I had 2 m.c's and the babies look great! These will be my first....any suggestions?
Also - hoping things are well with you all.

hi kim--congrats on the healthy babies! based on what my rheumi said post-mc, i would say that if they don't do any bloodwork during your pregnancy, it won't help you if you mc again and then want to figure out what may have gone wrong for future pregnancies. i've never heard of ana or other basic bloodwork tests causing any problem for a fetus, since they're not invasive at all! but either way, it's a really good sign you're so far along with no problems. again, congrats and good luck!!!

Hi every-one, I'm so glad to have found you. Your stories are soooo familiar. I had 3 m\cs in a row, all very early(between 4 and 5 weeks) ANA 320 immediately after last pregnancy, 2 weeks later ANA 80, but with mild joint pain. No pain when ANA 320. Tested for all autoimmune antibodies including APS, anti cardilipin complements etc. All negative! My mum has Sjogrens Syndrome and my Rhematologist said that if you have a close relative with an autoimmune disease than a woman has a 40% chance of having ANAs and a 3% chance of ever getting a disease. I'm convinced the m/cs caused my ANA to go up. I don't understand the joint pain however. I am soooo scared to try for another baby because of the possibility that it may trigger a full b__wn disease. If you have any advice i would love to hear from you! I'm from Australia and I've never heard of baby aspirin( I'm a R.N) Is that just a low dose?

hi there, I had 7 pregnancies total. First three were mc. My doctor was concerned because of my age, was to young she said to be having 3 mc in a role with a health body etc. She did a bunch of tests and found out my progesterone level was really low. She said not to get pregnant till they could do more tests and to wait for my period and thus do a blood draw after and see If levels went up or down. But what happend was un expected, while waiting for my period II got pregnant so I went in immed. They drew blood and found out that that my body was producing 1/2 the proges amount as a normal person that is need to sustain a pregnancy. I Then went on to have 2 proges shots 2x week for the first trimester till my placenta was able to produce its own hormones to sustain a pregnancy. My next pregnancy was exact same thing! but by the time I had my 3/4 baby my body started producing enough on its own, weird ya. Only after my 7th pregnancy and 4th live birth I started to get totally achey and just exausted all the time! I was thinking what the heck is going on, Iam young ( 30) but my body feels like I am in my 70s. Super sore joints in legs arms trigger points on the fibromialgia chart, So my doctor took a bunch of tests and found out that my ana was positive but as far as SED reate it was ok. She then stated that because of this positive ana I can have a chance of developing stuff like lupus and RA. I did do research and looked at hundreds of postings/ info on line and this head doctor in the states had said that In all his years of practice he has mostly always seen a diagnosis of lupus before fibromialgia. In any case, It seems to me with the reading that I have done and my experience so far that your body has more of a chance of having all these weird things happen. Although I did not know of the ana in earlier pregnancies It makes sense, I have always had symptoms of an autoimune stuff but with some ana their is no symptoms, just positive ana. Some peopele its totally normal, with ana in some people your body attacks its self to a certain extent. Thus problems with throid, joints, hormones not in suff amount etc..
my younges is 8mo old , a health baby boy. God bless you guys, its comforting to see others with the same problems as me.

sounds like that achey achey is fibromialgia, Its see in women with our problems as well as others following an accident (auto) It came be for week , mo, even years, but ya its in your joint and comes and goes with tirdness . Try mango xan, it actually works pretty good as far as getting your strength going and pain. I tried it and have used maybe 4 bottles , excellent stuff!! or even NONI its a hi oxident juice supp. I hope You guys are all doing good! , kahalaiki

Hi everybody! I am just checking in,I want to see how everybody is doing. I am the same cathy from the first posts on this thread. All of your posts helped me so much, it was so nice to hear other peoples experiences and advice from their drs.....it was nice to be able to compare notes.
Renee how did your pregnancy go,I believe you were due some time this month.
Kim how is yours going?
Jenny, how are you, what is your status?
I am currently 39 wks. pregnant, I am due this sunday April 2. I can't wait to see my little girl,I have waited for this baby for so long.
I was taking baby aspirin my whole pregnancy, and my ob told me to stop taking it when I finish my 37th week. I guess she doesn't want me to take it before labor ,so it doesn't cause any extra bleeding. They tested my ANA only in the 1st trimester .
Good luck to everybody!!!!!!

Hi, I am new here. After 1 healthy baby and 4 mc my ob-gyn finally decided to refer me and have me tested and I tested ANA positive. I am 5 weeks pregnant now and scared to death, other mc would go until week 10 and get all my hopes up. My endocrinologist has me on Lovenox, aspirin and progesterone, but I really want to stop the Lovenox since it hurts and leaves me with bruises all over. Anybody have any experience with stopping Lovenox and just continuing the aspirin and still succeed ?
thanks

Hello. I'm new to this forum and just found out I'm ANA positive. I love hearing your success stories. It gives me hope that I will have another successful pregnancy. I m/c my first preganacy, gave birth to a healthy little girl 15 mos ago and just found out that I'm pregnant again. I got the ANA news just days after I found out I was pregnant. Now, I'm much more concerned about another m/c. I couldn't get in to see the rhumy for another 4 weeks. Did your OB's tell you to take the baby asprin?? My OB said they'll do more tests if I m/c again. I really don't want to wait and see. Again, so nice to have others to talk to. I hope you are all well!
