im 14 weeks and found out i was pregnant at 6 weeks. i was a pack a day smoker and gave myself a week to quit. i did, well i tried my best, occasionally (i mean like once a fortnight) i will have a few puffs of a friends when i am craving. i know this is terrible but the occasions are getting fewer and far between and i want to know whether i will ever not smoke, i feel guilty afterwards, extremely guilty. just in need of support and myabe even someone to get a little p___sed off at me for what i am doing to my baby

As a former smoker married to a smoker, I can somewhat relate, althought I have never had a problem quitting when I get pregnant. Think about this: my grandmother smoked while pregnant with my father. He was born healthy, but he spent the next 10 years of his life in and out of the hospital with severe asthma. Are you willing to go through that? Are you willing to risk putting your child through that? If you have been able to slow down, you can absolutely quit. Hey, at least you're trying to quit, though. Some people don't even try! Good luck to you.
