I've been using 100% Shea B___ter and Pure Virgin Cocoa B___ter which I got online from a free trade African website. It's great stuff and I love it..so far so good. It keeps my skin nice and moisturized.

I agree that we shouldn't stress too much about what's on the outside. It's on what's on the inside that counts!!! With that said-- I have no stretch marks and have had two children. My starting weight was 105 w/my first pregnancy and 100 w/my second. I am 5'3" tall. I gained 40 and 43 lbs with pg's. My babies were 6 lbs and 7 lbs 5 oz. I have always been a big water drinker and always use lotion (nothing fancy-unless it's a gift, lol) but when my dh and I were planning on getting pg, then I went and got some Palmers cocoa b___ter and started using it a month or so before I got pg and then continued using it throughout the pg. They have a new concentrated cream out now as well. I purchased both this time around (working on number three) I love the concentrated cream version but use the origa___l "cake like cream" in the plastic jar as well because I know that it helps! I don't know if it's my skin and I am just lucky, but both of my sisters and my mother and all my aunts have terrible stretch marks from their pg's so I don't know why I am different. I chalk it up to the high water intake and the lotion all the time (every day after a shower). I have to think that it does the trick, cause why wouldn't I have stretch marks like the rest of the gals in my family?

Well to me I hate stretch mark!!! Who dosen't. Well I haven't been prenet or nothing. But when I was about 11 years old I started to noticed some stretch marks on my leg. then sooner on my sides, then on my upper arms, and on my b___sts. I have tried using the Avon cream for stretch marks but it hasen't helped. and now i'm 12 and I am noticing more and more stretch mark all over my body. So for all you mothers that read this please always make your little girls put some lotion on. Because my mother always told me to put lotion on so I wouldn't get them, but me I didn't listen to her, and here I am with stretch marks all over my body and don't know how to get rid of them. So moms please help your little daughters prevent them.

Like most everyone else has said. Stretch marks is maily genetic, but also has to do with your level of health. By that I mean drink lots of water, eat lots of foods high in antioxidants, and lean proteins. As that will also help to improve the natural condition of your skin. I'm sure the lotion is not all that matters, but it may help. Another thing I have heard is to not loose the baby weight (after giving birth) too fast. As the skin and muscles need to be givin time to shrink along with you. If you try to crash diet and/or not eat very much right after giving birth....yes you will probably loose weight, but if done too fast....you will cause stretch marks. I know this to be true b/c when I was in college I gained 15lbs. I went on a crash diet, and lost like 20lbs in 6 weeks........with that being said....I now have stretch marks all over my hips, and some on my b___t. So far with this pregnancy.....I am fine (no stretch marks). I am going to try do a little of everything I mentioned above to prevent them from coming onto my belly.

Name:Donalen Date:February 25,2006,16:47 Answer:hello everybody! My mother doesn't have any stretch marks on her tummy at all after two pregnancies. She said "baby oil" is also very effective on preventing stretch marks, she said putting baby oil after every shower is the best time because your skin is clean so it absorbs the oil more. So, for those who don't believe cocoa b___ter,you can try using baby oil,it is more greasy but at least it smells better. doNaleN

There is no way to prevent stretch marks. But, I hope the things you are using helps..and why not try this if you want to maintain your good figure and minimize stretch marks after giving birth to your second child and coming children, try this http://www.vlage.com/recommends/pregnancywithoutpounds.html

I am 5 months pregnant and on my second child....I wasnt showing any sighns of strech marks with my first son untill i was 7 months pregnant....and then BOOM out of the blue there they came....and with my second child on the way my strech marks showed up right away as soon as my belly got a little big...my two pregnancy's are 5 years apart so I thought maybe they wouldnt be so bad...well I was wrong....but Ihave been using alot of Palms Coco b___ter & their strech mark cream....It seems to make them lighter but not any smaller. I would recomend that just keep using creams no matter what they are because you just never know what may help your skin better untill you try different products...everyone is different it's all trial & error....thank you

I use hair conditioner it does work.

two words.......hydration and genetics. You need to stay hydrated inernally and externally.......and if you have inherited good skin (elasticity) then you will have a better chance at not getting stretch marks.
