I am 5.2 wks pregnant and am in my season for volleyball. I play two nights a week. The level is compet_tive but I have never been ran into and am avoiding diving on my stomach. I played Division 1 in college and again never have had a sever blow to the stomach by the ball or another player. I am not worried about that! (I feel I am at more of a risk of getting in a car accident then getting a blow to the belly, most competetive players might understand?) My concern is simply this. Have there been any studies to show any women that endured a miscarriage due to playing volleyball. (other than urban ledgend anyone know someone that miscarried?) I realize my doctor having to play the “conservative role” and suggest that I don’t play. But I am having a hard time narrowing peoples concern.

Hello!! I don't play volleyball but my husband is indoor/outdoor sand Mens double player (VERY COMPETIVE) and I always go to his tournaments. Just this past summer I met a girl that was 7 months pregnant playing womens doubles tournament sand which was just as compeptive and it was like 90 degree sunny day. She just had her baby in late August and everything was great. I also know another girl that played sand up until she was 6 weeks and everything was ok. For a__surance, you might want to check with your doctor though!! Good luck
